Every time my boy kitty Smokey who is 7 months old drinks water he always sniffs it up his nose and starts to cough and sneeze for a while! He does it every time! How can I get him to stop and is this dangerous to him?

As mentioned above could you pls. provide me how to produce more mucus on the bodies of discus fish.

Also it is observed that may discus fish eat their eggs before it is fertilised. How to avoid it and what are the reasons for it. Can we separate one of them and see the results?

You reply on this topic shall be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

p k nair

I have two female cats. One is 1.5 years and spayed, the other is 3.5 months (waiting till 6 months to have her spayed.) My big cat seems like she's on a constant mission to sniff the kitten's butt! She'll even pin the kitty down (doesn't hurt her) just to sniff. Why is this? Do cats have scent glands in this region or is it about heirarchy? I've seen dogs do this plenty of times, but I'm kind of a new cat owner.

I can't seem to find much info. about this on the Internet, so I was hoping someone who knows cats' anatomies better might be able to help!

Hello, I am a student and I think many of my class mates have dogs, besides that fact, I really like dogs!!! My house is pretty big but there isn't much of a back yeard... though there is a nature reserve at the back of my house. I'd like something that has short-medium hair... excersise... not too often...maybe 2-4 times a week or once every other day for 1/2 hr. The dog also needs to have some ability to guard the house, yet is still friendly, loyal and somewhat independent... any ideas?

I do. And my cat loves it. But I am slightly embarrassed taking him out. I justify it due to the fact that he has leukemia and this is the only safe way for him to enjoy the outdoors. I am not a crazy cat lady who anthropomorphizes her animals and dresses them up in costumes, etc.

A week ago my shepard/husky mix 10 years old started going outside potty more, then 3 days ago he started bleeding (dripping), a dark blood
from his penis. I took him to the vet andthe vet said he thought it was kidney stones or cancer of Kidneys. He said his membranes did not look good because his gums were not very pink. I asked his honest opion and he said either way he would haev to have surgery and even though my dog didn't show me he was in pain, he was in terrible pain. If it was cancer they could remove but Kemo would have to follow. I had to put him to rest and now after reading some sites online I found there are ways to dissolve Kidney Stones. This dog was my life. I slept on a hardwood floor with him for 2 months while he dhad a rupctured disk. He thanked me everyday when he just looked up at my eyes with all his love and compassion. Did I do the right thing? I hurt so bad........

I was thinking about this after answering another helmet question. I have taken a few falls while having my current helmet. But I have checked it every time and it is fine ( also I have never hit my head on the ground). I have had it for almost 9 years. How often should you replace a helmet ( time wise)?

Me and my boyfriend are going to be moving in together someday soon and he has 2 cats female and I have 2 cats that are male and Mine have thier claws and His cats are decalwed> I don't want my male cats hurting the female cats. I am not wanting to do it but my boyfriend said I better cause he will be upset of his cats get hurt. I think that they will be fine and that the boy cats will maybe be rough a lil bit at first but lose interest in them eventually like they do for thier toys. I guess they do rough house with each other alot and female cats might not.. all the cats are spad or nuetered so that won't be a problem. comments??? or and also has anyone heard of the surgery where they cut the cats tendons to the claw so they cant extend them instead of taking out the whole claw?? if you know anything about this I would appreciate it!!!

My cat has fibrosarcoma in her mouth and sinus. I have had the vet do 3 surgerys removing tumors from the roof of her mouth so that she can continue to eat. I have been doing assisted feeding for over a month now. The tumor has grown back again after the 3rd surgery and I have to water down her food so that she can swallow it. I am feeding her the veterinarian perscribed A/D. I am hoping to find someone familar with this type of cancer and who can give me some ideas for fighting it. Our veterinarian doesn't seem to have much hope for her. I have read about and tried using some home remedies like flax seed oil, but I'm not sure if it's doing anything for her. She is pretty much skin and bones right now, so any ideas for increasing her weight quickly would also be very helpful. The A/D doesn't seem to be enough with as little as she is willing to let me feed her. Thank you for any ideas.

I have a year old Lab/Shar pei mix. He has been chewing and scratching all his hair off and making huge open sores. I took him to the vet, they ran test, gave him some antibiotics, only to find nothing and then charge me $400. I can not afford to pay the vet $400 again, for no results. Not to mention the fact that they won't allow me to make payments! I don't know what to do. I have tried everything! I have tried natural dog foods, using Gold bond for the itching, milder shampoos, tea tree oil, benedril among other things that have been suggested to me. Do you have any suggestions? I need help fast! I feel so bad for him, and he has to be miserable.
