I don't have enough pasturage for more than one horse, but she needs someone to ignore. LOL! She's a big appendix and seems lonely. Have considered sheep. Anyone know if there would be any problems with this?

our feelings and not wanting to tell you the dog was destroyed? Or are they up front, "sorry destroyed", or "yeah! - adopted."

I recently bought home anew kitten named Tobey. I already had two cats and a dog. Tobey gets along fine with the cats, since he is used to being around cats. The dog is another story. Roger is a husky mix and is medium sized, Tobey seems slightly scared of him, but curious. Tobey will pounce on Roger, swat at him and try to play, but when Roger responds to Tobey, Tobey hisses. Roger is starting to get annoyed at Tobey. How can I teach Tobey not to provoke Roger?

We already had cats when we got her as a puppy, (3 yrs ago) and she wanted what the cats were eating, even though we gave her the best brands of puppy/dog food. She would not touch the dog food, no matter what the brand- Science Diet, Iams. I guess the cat food has good vitamins in it too, though not formulated for dogs. Is there any long term harm in this?

Tonight it is supposed to get down to 17 degrees farenheit. I have a Boxer that is an outdoor dog. Bringing her in is out of the question. She has a dog house with hay in it. What can I do to ensure she doesn't get to cold? I live in Alabama so she isn't used to cold weather.

Is it for self defense, intimidation, or just general insecurity about themselves?

Our neighbor "rescued" a bunch of baby goldfish from an outside pond. She gave us 9 but our tank is only 50 gallons. Where can we humanely get rid of the fish?

Its that time of the year, exam time! The semester is almost over and my roommate and I are getting ready to go back home for the winter break, but we have come across a slight glitch. We bought a Beta fish this semester and we don't know how to take care of him over the break.

We were thinking of bringing him home with us, but we can't think of a good way for him to travel. Someone also told us that he can live without being fed for a certain amount of time, but we'd prefer not to have to resort to that.

I guess my question is really, how would you take care of him? We are going to be gone for almost a month, and my roommate lives and hour and a half away (I live 5 hours away, so I definitely can't come back just to feed the fish). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm asking this in "dogs" because this is where I spend most of my time...

For those of you who allow e-mail through YA, do you find that some people abuse it? I have found that sometimes when people disagree with me they tend to carry on with insult after insult through my e-mail. What is the point?

Do they really think that my day is ruined because of their childish reactions to my opinions?

We recently moved from a very warm dry climate to a colder moist climate, and since we got here a month ago, my Bichon Frise' has literally licked the black off of the pad on one of her toes. I can't see a cut, and have put topical ointment on several times. About the time it starts to heal, she starts licking again. Any suggestions besides the cone?

I'm getting scared from reading about the injectable kind or valium, as opposed to Isoflourine- i think that's it, which seems harmless, fast acting, & leaves their system quickly with no side effects. Do all vets have options or do some use just one. I don't want to worry. Please help!- esp. any vets or vet techs out there!
Thank you!
Please

I have a female black on white cat and she is about 10 years old. She is both an inside and outside cat but during the winter mostly indoors. I have found piss on my fathers bed, on the couch and on my bed as well. I clean her box very often and have not switched her litter type. Do you know why she might be doing this and cleaner to get rid of the horrible stinch?

I live in the 4 Corners Area --- NM, CO, AZ,Utah, in the US and my hubby brought home a hitchhiker. He found this guy 10 miles from anywhere. The dog is a well behaved nutered male Golden Retriever with no tags. I've done all I know to do.....placed an ad in the local paper, and contacted animal shelters in 3 states. You can tell from this poor fellows feet he had traveled a good ways and that he at one time had a collar. The problem in this area is we are so remote and have lots of tourist and people lose dogs traveling through from all over the US... I see them in the paper.

Please don't suggest I keep him. I have 5 dogs plus lots of other animals to care for. Any ideas would be helpful. This guy is so sweet I know someone is looking for him.

Hey there! i reacently... inherited a 30 gallon fish tank. I have had fish before so I know all the usual stuff, but this one is... unique... my friends cousin dumped a half a bottle of bleach into his tanks(fish and all, he was breeding cichlids :( ) and I need to clean the chlorine out of the tank to make it safe... I know that I cant use soap, because that will kill the fish... so is there a safe way to clean out the chlorine from the tank. He has already tried rinsing the tank with hot water, and letting the water sit for 4 days with the water filter pump running (but without a filter i think he said so i am not sure what good THAT did) and took a water sample to the ministry of environment, who said it had 4X the regular chorination, so we think that the bleach may have gotten into the sealer in the corners... does anyone have any suggestions for a good fish friendly cleaner?? Thanks

I'm worried that my yellow lab isn't getting tired of me kicking the ball around and him fetching it and bringing it back. I usually throw the frisbee once in a awhile. I'm just looking for a new, unique play-time activity to do with my dog (lab). Any suggestions?
