Try some extras. Maybe a heavy tarp placed over the dog house. Also some old blankets or pillows or a piece of carpet. They also love snuggling up to big stuffed animals. They should have plenty of food inside and water at the door. My dog even had a friend stay over in hers that way for about a week. I let them be. When the cold was gone so was he.

I know this may sound stupid but, I had the same problem, I had a boxer kept outside in a large kennel, with straw.
I also installed a tubular electrical heater they have a built in thermostat, it only gives out a very low heat and the dog can even lay up against it, and the thing uses a very low wattage (about the same as a light bulb) it was about 2 foot long and 3" diameter metal, the cable was run in metal conduit, very cheap to buy ! the dog was well pleased. Just ensure the dog cant chew any live cable and it will be as snug as a bug in a rug, you'll have a job getting it to emerge in the mornings.

My sisters family she married into bred these guys. It is cold where they live but they would never leave theres outside in the cold.
Put something around the dog house to insulate it. I have a old busted horse blanket (you no the big coats for horses that are insulated). I have this wrapped around the kennels, only two of our dogs are little enough for them (one kennel is the biggest I could find) Insulate it with something, more then just some hay to lay on.
Or you could do what that preacher guy did and have the dog house fully insulated with heater and lights lol!
Good luck I sure hope you pooch gets through the winter ok...

I think the hay should work fine. Maybe an old blanket or something similar, too. Is there some sort of covering for the door to the dog house just to help hold the heat in and keep any wind out? She will be just fine.

Drape layers of thick blankets on top of the dog house. Fill the inside with hay, fluffy blankets- and, if your dog is okay with electric cords, a heating pad. Maybe include a hot water bottle. Before you go to bed, heat some towels in the dryer and put them over her. Check on her periodically.. I'm not saying you have to get up in the middle of the night, but before you go to bed and right away in the morning. Personally, I would bring the dog in- I wouldn't want to take a chance.

Put some more hay and newspaper in the dog house to increase insulation, but she should be okay. Does the doghouse have a door? That will help. She must also have access to a bowl of fresh water - it won't freeze in the doghouse with her bodyheat.
Can you put her doghouse in the garage or under a porch or something?

When the weather turns really cold here in Nevada, I sometimes put a drop light in the dog house with my Lab. Labs can handle extreme cold , But it makes me feel better. Your box can't handle the cold as well as a lab, but I believe a Drop light will do the trick for you. Good Luck

She will need water and a door for her dog house. You do realize she should be brought in even if its to the garage.
