yes, anything that breeds with another being that has the same or close to the same genetic makeup faces risks of deformation and other problems.

It depends. Do you know all of the dogs in the 3-5 generation pedigree and whether the there was any disease? Did most of those dogs live to be old? How about the littermates of the dogs in the pedigree? Now how about the same in the pedigree of the stud? How many generations have had health testing for carrying disease common to your breed?
That is VERY close inbreeding and only done by the very knowledgable. If you do not know the answers to these questions you are NOT qualified!

Only the extreemly knowlagable should ever attempt a breeding that close because things will go wrong far more often than not if you don't know what you are doing. That said, half brother/sister breedings have been done quite sucessfully in the past producing several very famous dogs.

No your dog will not be retarded. Selective breeding is done all the time to transfer specific traits. It is repeated breeding to close genetic members that can cause difficulties. Breeding until the entire brood is of one genetic line.

over breeding can make a dog have problems for one. Thats one of the many reasons I dont agree with it.

No, animals often inbreed, sounds gross but as long as it is not complete inbreeding there shouldnt be a problem, also it helps to cross bloodines in future litters

Are you talking about inbreeding? Yes this can be very harmful.
Look at the royal families in people, they were inbreds and were crazy. Critters are no diffarent.....
