our new kitten gets on counters and tables and she always gets on your lap when you are eating to get on the table and we thought we should spray her with a water bottle , is that mean or what ? but there is no other way I have found that you can tell a cat not to do something .... and I want to make sure she learns while she is 3 months old...!

She stayed for two days to get fluid in her. They took tests and x-rays. It turns out that she has hypothyroidism, arthritis, tumor on the liver(don't know if it's cancerous), and something in her lungs because she's breathing hard. I brought her home, but if she's not better after she finishes her medication, I'll probably have to have her put to sleep. I also found that she's 16, not 19-but still getting old.Thank you for caring answer.

We need help to get it to it's owner. I have the dog's tag and the phone number for the Vet office. They will not give the name of the person that owns it and the number to reach the owner is disconnected when the Vet's office called. Is there a national database to find the owner by the dogs tag number and the Vet's address?

Sometimes she poops in the litter box, sometimes nearby. The cat seems to have a health problem that all the vets could not identify. A kind of pain or distress. When she poops, she miaous nervously and then runs away. Any idea?

two years ago we managed to rescue a dog that had been beaten half to death because it had been born with an overbite, within hours of claiming the dog we took it to the vet and were told that the dog woud never be well and the only thing they could do was to put her down. We refused and took the dog with us. We taught her to walk, eat, and to enjoy pats without fear, it was one of the hardest things i've done for a dog. Today she is a mother and a happy dog, but is petrified of other people, and vets have still tod me she isn't getting 'value' from life! i also had another dog diagnosed with diabetes and was promptly told it would be easier to put her down than to give her daily insuin shots...again i took the dog home, and she lived another two years with regular insulin shots three times daily. These have been from different vets throughout Australia, why do vets tell us to do things like that? aren't they supposed to love animals?

Recently came accross a video on the PETA website showing the barbaric treatment of animals on fur farms in China. I could only watch a few seconds of these poor animals literally being skinned alive. It has sickened me to my stomach. How can we stop this and why are people so cruel?

They ask to go out when I am there but at night and during the day they can't seem to hold it! They are walked twice a day and let out into the garden regularly when I am at home.

I have a 4-year-old cat that has been de-clawed and fixed. She always wants out side. If we do not let her out she will meow, and meow. If we ignore her she will nock things off on the counter, tip over water glasses. She will even pee on any article of clothing bedding. That might be lying in the floor. My question is how do I keep her in side? My oldest daughter witnessed a stray cat that was hit by a car. We are know scared to let our kitty outside.

I just moved out of a 3-bedroom home with my 2 cats. I moved into a fairly small 1-bedroom apartment. I suspect that my cat Frodo is angry about this and consequently, he's been peeing on my bathmats! He's peed on them 6 - 8 times total. They're white, so it really shows. It's very frustrating. He also runs around the house wailing. I've washed my mats with tons of bleach and soap, but he just keeps peeing on them! I've tried setting them outside for a week or two, hoping he'll forget. I've also put his face near the pee and spanked him, like they tell you to do, so I think he knows it's wrong. Is there a way that I can get him to stop?! Thanks in advance.

I'm reposting this because not as many people replied as I would have liked.

I don't know anything about liver disease, so can you guys help me out here?

My friends dog has liver disease, I'm not sure how serious it is, but is sounds like it's pretty bad. Her dog was suppose to go for surgery to help her out, but becayse the liver didn't get better the dog is not going for surgery now. So I was just wondering what will happen to my friends dog? Will she have to be put to sleep because of it or what?

My friends dog is probably between 7 months old and 1 year. My friend got her dog from an alchoholic guy. So my friend thinks that her dog Molly already had a bit of liver disease when she got her.

Thanks!!
