Recently came accross a video on the PETA website showing the barbaric treatment of animals on fur farms in China. I could only watch a few seconds of these poor animals literally being skinned alive. It has sickened me to my stomach. How can we stop this and why are people so cruel?

While I believe in the food chain, I do not believe in cruelty to animals. The problem is that people believe that money is more important than care. They are will to abuse animals in order to get their profit.

The other issue is the love of fur coats in the world. There is no reason to wear the skin of an animal unless the rest of the animal has been eaten. Minks are never eaten, but they have soft fur and people love to wear their fur rather than appreciating their beauty while they are alive. Leather jackets on the other hand are taken from cows after their deaths and the rest of the cow is sent to a meat packing plant.

Interestingly enough it has been found that a little extra care is much more beneficial for the animals and farmers. Free range chickens produce more eggs and taste better than chickens stuck in a chicken coup.

PETA is great for exposing that cruelty. The problem is people like at least one responder to your question who said that you are a hypocrite if you eat meat. How can we get change if we blame people who eat meat and wear furs for the crimes committed by farmers and fur plants? There will never be a time when all people stop eating meat and unfortunately many people will continue to wear fur coats.

Take care,
Troy

The only ways that can help to put a stop to this, is to not buy the products that test on or use animals in any way. Some are not aware to what is happening, so we must let them know in some way what is happening. Yahoo forum is a great way to get the word out. Many people hate PETA because they don't understand what is happening.

It is truely heart breaking. It is imposible for me to understand how a human being can have no feelings for what they are doing. But it happens everywhere, here too. The things that happen in slaughter houses here in the US are just as bad.
One thing we can do is not buy fur. Just the other day, I saw for sale in a Cracker Barrel store in Louisville KY, (the one near the Expo Center), a fake "puppy" curled up in a basket. It looked so real, people were oooing and ahhhing over it. I looked closely at it. It was made in China and I believe it was made out of actual dog fur!!!

If we can't stop animal cruelty, we can at least pick up the pieces. I do my bit, as we all can and should, by rescuing animals. I have a houseful of creatures that nobody else wanted. I have a snake who was beaten by his first owner, and he won't let anyone but me touch him. Why was he beaten? Because the man couldn't "get him back in his tank." Who in their right mind would physically abuse a helpless little creature because it wasn't doing exactly what they wanted?? I wish these 'people' who hurt animals would stop thinking that they are superior to everyone and everything. When you keep an animal you are its friend and companion; not its boss or its master. Sometimes animals just get confused and don't understand what we're asking of them; it's not like they misbehave to spite us!

Most people protest but to take it to the next level id sue. I agree animal creulty must stop. I have seen similar videos to what you have seen and I agree its sick but no one feels the need to take action cause they do not care. Maybe its something else but all we can do is protest as much as we can. Or write to our local PM and say something, the more we fight the more they will listen.

I dont understand myself why people can be so cruel, but they are blind to suffering they think animals are bred for things like that. I wish I could be of more info maybe try reasearching websites like the PDSA and the RSPCA good luck in your quest.

Like love cruelty also comes out of practise. As long as people are self centred and don't bother about others sufferings, the practise of cruelty will continue. The only way of bringing down cruelty to animals is to first ban of use of animal derived products like furs, moccasins,Ivory etc. A world wide campaign like the Green peace movement to save environment , should be started to curb cruelty to animals. Animal; oriented organisations like SPCA, Blue cross have to be supported and nurtured.

I have often asked myself that same question. I am raising two kittens right now that were almost burnt to death by some cruel person. I do not understand things like this. I belong to PETA. That is an excellent organization for prevention to animals. Joining them is one small way to stop cruelty. I don't even eat meat do to the fact that the slaughtering of them is not done humanely.

it makes me sick im a massive animal lover and have plenty, cats, 7 dogs, parrots, ponies etc etc and if could get my hands on these people i would do to them what they do to these poor animals. the only way it will ever stop is people stop buying from the traders without customers there would be no trade needed but all the time people are buying and helping it to carry on it will never end, the only other way is for the government to ban it but they wont as they dont care about animal welfare.

Not trying to insult anyone but have you looked at Canada's record on fur trading or the USA where if you pay big bucks you can shoot lions, tigers etc.
All I can suggest is you join Greenpeace and Good Luck, there is no excuse for treating animals in this fashion.
