My vet said OK to administer in same doseage as toddler, and it is working great! Thanks for responses and to Baxter's Dad - I'd prefer to throw YOU out of a car and see if that fixes you :)

You can give your dog benadryl if you want to kill him. HUMAN medicine is for HUMANS!!! Sure the medicines are similar and many times the same for pets, but the dosages and vehicles for the medicine are different- and for GOOD reason.

Take the pug to the vet, have them prescribe a solution and follow it. Otherwise, I'd offer another suggestion to stop the pug's nose from running, throw him out the window of a moving car- that'd work guaranteed.

Get a clue and be a responsible owner.

Yes it is ok to give a dog Benadryl... but not in this case. Take her to a vet, do not self diagnose. At the very least call the vet and hear what they have to say. They may well tell you the dosage for a dog that size, and say if it does not clear up in a few days bring her in. You cannot just pop them a pill same as you would a person, this could seriously harm your dog's liver and kidneys.

You should not give an animal a medication meant for humans the dosage could kill them and there might be something in the ingredient that could send them into Anaphylactic shock or if your pet is diabetic a seizure. Ask your vet before administering any medication.

call and ask your vet. pugs are prone to have a lot of breathing problems and all. ours is always sneezing and has a kinda runny nose. the thing is if anything contains asprin(and im not sure if benadryl does) it is very very dangerous for dogs. and if you haven't had your pugs nose fixed ask your vet about it. it improves the breathing quality and helps with any of their breething problems. hope your doggy gets feeling better.

Yes, its fine my dog has seasonal allergies and my vet told me to give my Beagle give her a dose equal to a toddler. If you take your Pug to the Vet they will give you the SAME Benadryl only in a pill. That will cost a TON more! Buy liquid and hide it in your dog's food.

Dogs do not get "colds"

You have descrbed the syptoms of what could be any one of several illnesses - some quite serious such as bordatella, parainfluenza, coronavirus......

You need to get her into the VET and find out the cause.

Do NOT go givng home remedies and human medications without knowing the CAUSE of the illness!!

Benadryl is safe for dogs. You need to call your vet first and run it by them, but I have several dogs and cats, and when they are sneezing and coughing they get benadryl.

NO! Benadryl is not for animals! Check with your vet and I'm sure they will give you someone better. Something that is especially for dogs.

I give my Sheltie Benadryl. The only problem is that he sleeps all day.
