i have a rat terrier/chiwaawaa that sheds a lot.i have tried combs and brushes to groom her.it only pulls more hair out that doesn't stay on the brush.so i started vacuuming her with my vaccum cleaner.is there a small hand held type somewhere that would work better?

I recently bought two orandas on Sunday. I have a Cold water BiOrb with 7 minnows and 2 fantails. I give them flakes and pellets everyday. The two fantails eat both ok. The two orandas on the otherhand seem to not know what food is! lol. 1st they only ate the flakes that sank towards the bottom. now one of them has learnt about the pellets. I'm worried about my other orandas who seems not to be able to eat. It swims around opening and closing its mouth trying to eat the food but it never seems to eat any and hardly never comes for the pellets only for the bubbles and swims back down. and also it looks lethargic, just floating around most of the time. Is there any thing i can do, or just leave it continue feeding normally. Thanks for help.

My 6 month old kitten still doesn't cover up her 'business'. I used to use the cheap kitty litter but changed it to a higher quality litter instead. They are white crystals which are supposed to be better and reduce the smell.

My kitten does what she has to do and will try cover it up. When she gets out of the litter tray, she will continue do dig the crystals OUT of the tray.

I have tried spraying her with a water bottle when I catch her doing it but that doesn't seem to work.

Anybody have any suggestions on what to do now as I am getting tired of constantly having to try and sweep up all the crystals back into the tray or into the bin!

Joey is so jealous of 3 week old baby, (Joey is 11). He is trying to jump on her all the time. Not aggressive but obviously jealous. Can't shut cat out all the time - what do I do?

Sometime soonish I will be getting a dog - quite possibly a big 'un like a German Shepherd. I want a male. However, I don't like neutering animals. So my question is, can I keep an unneutered large dog in safety? Will he be very aggressive or hard for me to control when we come across other dogs, etc? SERIOUS input would be great, thanks.

My 5 1/2 month old kitten, Missy, will only eat two types of kitten food: Salmon & Bream or Tuna & Chicken.

She will not eat the beef or chicken (or chicken with egg) for some reason.

I want to give her a wider variety of flavours because I don't want her to be a fussy eater when she is older.

She has no problem with eating chicken flavour dry food...

I live in Melbourne, AUSTRALIA (NOT U.S.A). There is only so far I can drive for kitten food.

I am currently feeding her Whiskas wet food and Purina One dry food. Should I try find a better brand of food?

Thanks for everyone's help in advance :)

My boyfriend and I are moving into a new apartment. The landlord wont let us take his dog. Shes a 5 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Since we cant take her with us, we did our best to find her a home. But no luck. My boyfriend called the pound so they can take her, and Im the one who has to give her away. Its hard enough on me, since I already had to give a dog away. How do I help my boyfriend cope with this. He loves her to death. We know they will most likely end up putting her down, since she is so protective of us and doesnt take likely to new people. When my boyfriend got her, she was about 8 months old. The person he got her off used her as a fighting dog. Since then, she has become sweet, loyal and loving. We asked everyone we know and they dont want a dog. We're out of ideas...
Does anyone have any ideas to help us cope with the idea of her getting put down? Or maybe there is someone out there who would like her. We're in the Newcastle area... cute_angel694u@yahoo.com

Now befor anyone freaks out Im taking my dog to the vet as soon as they open this morning. I was just curious on what could be going on with her.
She is very lethargic only nibbling on food and sipping on her water. Her stomach below her ribs is very hard and looks almost swollen yet at the same time she looks like shes lost quite a bit of weight (If that makes any sense) She is urinating normally but not pooping (she had bladder surgery because of stones a few months ago so i know its not the same thing again)
She was fine when i left (had to go out of town for a few days due to work) and when i came home i noticed this odd behavior.
My question is any ideas on what could be going on with her? Im leaning twords some kind of intestinal blockage..

Befor it gets said I had my neighbor who has three dogs of her own looking after mine while i was away so i know its not something she did.
