My pup is 6 months old and has toys to chew on. But he chooses to chew on everything else like the dining room chairs, coffee tables, corners on walls, etc. Every time we see him do that, we tell him no and give him one of his toys to chew on. But it hasn't worked yet. We literally, can not let him out of our sight. He is not teething, so that is not the problem. Please offer your suggestions.

She came home monday from the vet. I took her Saturday afternoon. She has a neuro problem & a ear infection.Should I keep her in a room with the other 3 birds? or do I need to keep her in a seperate room that is quiet? I don't know what to do . I give her antibotics for the infection but what can I do for the seziures? She had a seizure last night and it hurt to see her lie there like she was dead or dying.

Lately she's been acting very restless and uncomfortable when feeding the puppies. Their teeth are coming in and I think they are really starting to hurt her when they nurse. She is also not staying with the puppies as much as she was. She's still nursing them, but not as much. I was told it is too early to wean the puppies because they are still too young to wean and I've also been told, most breeders start weaning their puppies at 3-4 weeks or even as soon as they open their eyes. I just hate seeing my little girl hurting when she nurses and wondering if the puppies are getting enough to eat. What should I do to help the mother and her babies? The puppies seem fine, but I just want to give the mother a little break, and the puppies a chance at a good, healthy life. Any tips from anyone? Serious Answers Only Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have one schipperke already but he is already 7 years old so we have no problems with him. I'd like to crate train the puppy because I'm in college and there are certain days of the week where I would have to leave her alone for about 5-6 hours. This is only on Tuesdays though. Most other days I will be able to come home in between classes or don't have to be gone for that long. Or my fiance will be able to come home and bring her out. Will she be ok staying home alone for that length of time?

for a while now, i've kept an axolotl in my 10gal at work as the office pet. he was very unique, and started a lot of conversations with visitors...but he died last week (yes, cause diagnosed, aquarium thoroughly disinfected).

now i need new ideas as to what i can keep in the office; while the axolotl was so neat, i don't want to just "replace" him. your whole vision will have to be in that 10gal (bigger tank won't fit), and can't be something that requires *daily* attention (i'm not in on the weekends). ideally, we're talking about something more "cool" than just plain ol goldfish, and hey, if you have clever non-animal terrarium ideas for a 10gal, throw those in too.

things that are right out:
poison dart frogs - no place to keep fruit fly cultures in the office
saltwater fish - require too much monitoring

other than that, get creative, share your wisdom!

I have a 6 year old min pin and he never fully listens to me when I call him, only sometimes. I have a 3 month old min pin and would really love to get a head start and train her properly. It really stresses me out to see them get in harms way and when I call them they just don´t listen to me.

This is to everyone that must let go of their friend, but actually there was a poem written for owners letting their dogs go from Chetco. This seems to me for everyone that has a pet. Everytime she takes him to the Vet to schedule "it" she says on the day or day before that he looked and acted well. I have even said that I would take care of everything. We were getting pictures together and sayings, (her daughter loves this cat, Kim, identity crises when first brought to the home, Kim is a male.) He has some kind of cancer, but my friend won't explain. To me I understand why she is reluctant. And now to make matters a little sadder, my friends father is not doing so good, cancer, when she gets the call she must travel overseas to be with her family. I have no Idea what to do! Of course I will take care of everything if she has to leave, but what words or doings are there if both her father, and loving cat are gone, I fear I will cry because they are and will not be help at all.

I shoo them away each time but I would estimate that 1/5 of their diet is grown-up food not kitten food.
I could switch the older cats back to ktten food they are only 11 months old.

Ok, my dog is a 3-4 lb Chihuahua but he's a very calm and nice one that doesn't bark and shake alot. I am the only person who he ever gets playful with and if I buy him a toy he gets scared of it and runs the other way what's wrong with him?

I have a basset hound which has a very particular smell (as hounds usually do). I think it got stronger in the past 1.5 years since I moved to Europe. He gets baths one a month and in a couple of days the smell is back. I heard giving them co-Q10 will help (which is an anti-oxidant). anyone tried it? Any other suggestions?

my 5 month old kitten has this toy he absolutely loves and will caryy it around where ever he goes and he'll play with for hours...he also seems to break this toy about a week after i go get a new one, now im in a bind and the store where i used it get it no longer has them on the shelf and a worker told me its a luck of the draw, they buy them assorted and sometimes they get them, sometimes they dont...its very inexpensive (i think less then $2 for a string with bells, glitter balls and feathers)...he seems to get upset when its gone...how can i get him to "favor" a new toy?
