There are no bald patches. It seems to be a case of malting but it never stops. There's hair everywhere. The dog in question is a cross between a Chow and a Retriever. She is a year old and is very active. I also have a cockerspaniel, i'm not sure whether its just the one or both. He is 8yrs old.

My hamster was sick for a few weeks. She was over 2 yrs old, so I thought its old age. But there were all these fruit flies hanging around her cage. I never had that happen with a hamster. Each morning I cleaned her cage, and the flies kept coming back. Most vets in my area won't treat hamsters, but I found one an hour away and took her there. The vet said that she has worms. They suggested that I leave her at the vet and they'll put her to sleep. I wanted to take her home and the vet said that she's only going to live for a couple more days because she's so old and small. The next morning when I went to clean her cage, there were little worms in her cage where she sleeps. I freaked out. I put my hamster in a box and threw out the cage. I took my hamster to the woods, said good bye, & let her go. I didn't know what else to do. I want to think that she's happily living in the woods but I know I killed her. It's been 2 days since I left her in the woods & I feel so horrible.

He is about a year old, and has always been in good health. The spot is fairly small, about the size of a pin head. It is more reddish than the rest of his foot. He doesn't even seem to know it's there, and he's acting fine. My mom thought it might be like a blood blister. I intend to keep an eye on it, and if it's not gone after a week or two I'll probably take him to the vet.

My kitten does not groom himself yet. He's only 2mos old. My 3 year old cat tries to help him out, but he just stays dirty and stinky until I bathe him. Will he learn naturally, or should I be doing something to encourage him? Is he just a stinky, dirty boy??

I have a male cross-bred puppy, I got him from a rescue centre (so he is not really house trained).
My problem is that I let him out at night (until he barks to come back in). There is always pee on the floor in the morning (we have newspaper all over the kitchen). He is left sometimes during the day but never makes a mess (we usually walk him in the woods first - is this why?).
Any training trips please?

I just got a new kitty, and I have had CiCi (My Yorkie Dog) for almost 7 years, and she is so excited but she is a very rough player...She bites and jumps, and I am worried about my Kitty getting hurt. But I don't want to yell at Cici because she is just trying to play.

The neighbours let the dog out into the garden at any time and just let it bark. I would like to know of any (non harmful to myself or dog) solutions other people have used successfully.

I just got my puppy and I am thinking I want to neuter him. I want to prevent agressiveness later on and possible prostate problems (i read this somewhere). How much does this usually go for? Is it expensive? How are the puppies afterwards? Is it extremely painful? What should I expect?

we live in a first floor flat. In a central part of town near lots of food outlets. so detering rats from the locality is not feasible.

we keep getting rats in our loft space.

we put poison down and rat traps - kill them off and a month or so later we get a new lot.

we have had the council and rentokill round who have been able to offer no further advise other than what we are currently doing.

we were hoping that someone might no a way of detering them somehow.

(sonic repellers are not an option aswe have no electricty to the loft)

I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback x He is very clean and honestly doesn't smell like a dog at all unless he gets dirty ears...So I clean his ears but other than that he's never had a bath...He's 3...I've said this to a few people and gotten very surprised reactions...Does anyone else have a dog that takes such meticulous care of themselves??

I have this sweet young cat coming to my garden and into my house, i guess he's around 1,5 years. He likes to get petted and sometimes sleeps over. Since he seems really hungry, I started feeding him, lately on a regular base. I like him and would like to keep him, he is friendly and not afraid. But I have a few worries:
I threated my house against fleas, and it seems to be OK now, but after that it is as if he got more distant to me. I guess he got scared by the strange smell, and the thing I put on him, and also I couldn't let him in to the house while spraying.
Now he often stays away the whole night; -can it be that he has another house and just comes to me "for fun" ? He does seem really hungry though, and he is not fat.
-will he ever be able to become a "housecat" and not a "gardencat" if I for example move to a house without garden?
What about castration and all that; isn't it terrible for the cat? How much money can I expect to spend on the cat on a monthly or yearly base?

My dog taught himself to jump up and grab a rope and swing by it..This is how he has fun..He has never had any aggressive behavior..Not all pit bulls are mean and or aggressive..I believe they will only act that way if they are taught or treated that way. We treat our 's like a member of our family. In all the years we have had him he has never gone after anyone or anybody and has bever bitten anyone or even acted like he wanted to..

He has had regular doses of Frontline and the house has been treated, so its not fleas making him itch. He is also on James Wellbeloved hypoallegenic food, but still has awful bout of itching every night. Have seen Benydryl Childrens medicine recommended on Answers by several people, who have had some success.
