He has had regular doses of Frontline and the house has been treated, so its not fleas making him itch. He is also on James Wellbeloved hypoallegenic food, but still has awful bout of itching every night. Have seen Benydryl Childrens medicine recommended on Answers by several people, who have had some success.

Just call the vet - calls are generally free, and ask them, if they will not answer then try another - best thing to do is get him diagnosed first and go from there - it could be a variety of reasons. No one should give and OTC medication of any kind to an animals without a Vet recommendation, you could do more harm than good.

any medication for humans should only be given to humans unless your vet says other wise we had a dog who itch and bite until her fur came out it was because it was a dry dog food it cost use about £150.00 over 5 years they did not put her right we did if this dog food is dry mix with water as it may be dehydrating the dog you can get cream from Wilson pet shop try this first please it will take a few weeks to sort this ,put the cream on by what instructions of cream you could also try cod liver in his diet

Does your dog weigh about 50 pounds? Call your vet first, but just read the back of the bottle it will tell you based on the weight of a child.

you'd be better taking your dog to the vet coz you don't know what is causing his itching, a few tests later and the vet will, then he'll be able to tell you the best course of action to take.

Wen my 12 pound pooch had hives the vet told me to give him half a capsule sprinkled on his food or to give him a teaspoon of liquid for children.
