I HAVE A BLUE FRONT AMAZON

2006-09-25 10:21:48 · 8 answers · asked by Danny V 1 in Birds

I have a 6 1/2 month old American Bulldog who seems to be a real sweetie. However, after reading a few stories lately of mauling incidents which seem to target children I have become a little unsure as to just how trusting I should be. She seems to love children (I have two of my own) and always makes a beeline for them, especially when we are out at the woods or the park. I am now feeling that I ought to keep her on a lead when walking........just in case!! I know I am probably being unnessecarily wary as she has shown no aggression towards anyone or anything so far. Would appreciate some comments from ABD owners to alleviate my worries :)

I also was told they are less likely to warm up to humans and need patience and time.

I have a Calico kitten 7 months and this seems to be the case. Any suggestions?

I am adopting a puppy tomorrow from a pet store. They have a program where they get pups out of the pound and ready them for new homes, get them shots and vet chechups. They one the lady picked for me(we know each other really well) is a lab/chow puppy. I read that chows aren't really great dogs if you want complete obediance. Is it true and I was also wondering if it is true, would the fact that it is mixed with lab, the good personality of the lab(known as really trainable) would dull down the will not to listen. He is 8 weeks old tomorrow and I thought no matter what breed it was if we started early, the dog could be just as well trained as any other...Correct me if I am wrong.

My dog weighs 12lbs and the pit bull weighs about 60 pounds. My dog barely lived. We took all the measures and contacted animal control, and the people we rent from. the owners of the other dog did not have their dog on a leash. Did we do the right thing? How would u have handled it. Do u think the dog will attack again or go after a human?

When they eat, both of my betta fish put a flake in their mouth, chew it, and spit it out. Is this normal?

I've tried the topical stuff and it's not working. I thought maybe if we could give them something internally it would work better.

My husband has always wanted a yellow lab, and I don't know a good, reputable place (not a puppy farm) to buy one.

I found a great product on the web by Bayer. It`s called Advocate. It`s for fleas, ticks, worms, earmites and mange. My vet called me and said its not appoved in the US only appoved in Cananda. Can I leagally buy Pet meds in Canada and have them shipped to me in the US?....I really need this med for my dog. Not many things work for curing Demodex mange , but this product sounds very promising.
Can someone help?
Thanks
