I've tried the topical stuff and it's not working. I thought maybe if we could give them something internally it would work better.

Sorry to the young lady who doesn't like garlic but it works and does not harm the do. I mix minced garlic in their food. They've had it for so long they now seem to enjoy it. NO fleas, NO ticks and I live on a ranch.

There is a pill called capstar you can give and it will get rid of all the fleas on your dog but only lasts for 24 hours. It cannot be used as a flea preventative. If you don't have a bad infestation and if your dog is strickly inside it's ok to give periodically. I recommend using frontline as a preventative. Make sure you are using it correctly. Don't apply two to three day before or after a bath. It is common to still see fleas while using it because they do have to get on the dog for it to work and it take up to 12 hours for them to die. So just because you may be seeing some don't think it's not working.

You can purchase Cap Star from a vet. Will start killing fleas in about five to ten minutes and will kill all fleas with 24 hours. As a pet groomer, this is a great product. Amount is based on the pet's weight, very small pill with big effects. So much better than flea baths, dips or sprays.

Not sure about orally, but I suggest Revolution for either cats or dogs. It takes care of fleas, ticks, and heartworms. I found it best to buy the largest size possible, and adjust it in acoordance with your dog or cats weight. This is the most economically means to use the product since the package for large animals is the same cost as the preportioned sizes. I have four cats and live in Florida [cats get heartworms in warmer climates] and have never seen a flea or tick. One container of product does the four cats. Good Luck!!

Yes, Sentinal, birth control for fleas/heartworm preventative. Also, Capstar, kills fleas within a 1/2 hour. BUT, you need to kill the fleas in your pets environment. Call an exterminator. Vacuum EVERYWHERE and EVERYTHING, then throw the bag out.

I have had good results with Frontline.
I have also had very good results with garlic. However, the garlic pills that you get at the pet supply store take a few weeks to start working. I gave my dog garlic/brewers yeast tables for years with no problems and he was completely flee/tick free.

Brewer's yeast is supposed to work. But be careful with dosing. Size of the animal is important. Check out "Brewer's Yeast Fleas" in any search engine.

garlic pills are suppose to work. What you can do is go to the health food store and buy Dr. Bronners liquid eucalyptus soap and rub the down down. Its not toxic and keeps the fleas off.

Capstar or program, however there are many different topical things. Are you using Frontline oir Advantage? If so and its not taking care of the problem you may need to treat your enviroment.
