My husband has always wanted a yellow lab, and I don't know a good, reputable place (not a puppy farm) to buy one.

If your heart's set on buying a purebred pup rather than getting a rescue (there are numerous purebreds available from animal shelters and rescue organizations), you can find screened breeders at several sites. One thing to note is that reputible breeders generally do NOT advertise in the classifieds section of newspapers; those are more likely to be backyard breeders who are not selective in their breeding program. This is not *always* the case, but it's very common.

Hope this helps! :)
