This man never gave up, he finally found him! September 13, 2005—He had only a ghost of a chance, but after more than a decade of searching, a wildlife researcher has captured proof of a white giraffe. In this photo released September 6, the unusual beast and its companions stroll through a wilderness preserve in the African country of Tanzania.

Charles Foley of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) first heard reports of the white giraffe in Tarangire National Park in 1993. For 12 years he kept an eye out for the living legend while conducting his daily business of studying the park's savanna elephant populations.

"By 1994 the sightings stopped coming in, so I assumed it had died, either at the hand of man or beast," Foley said in a WCS press release. "I never stopped looking though."

Sorry, I can't seem to link the photo. Like all other all white or albino animals, isn't he magnificant? Look up his name for the pic.

She is 4 yrs old and in excellent health. The problem is that she licks all of her paws until they are raw and sometimes bleeding on the inside. I have searched her paws and can find no foreign objects. She has been doing this fairly regularly for about two years.

I have a 2.5 year old female american staffordshire terrier who is 55 pounds and very strong. I have tried several harnesses available at Petco / Petsmart, including the Halti and the Gentle Leader Easy Walk. The Easy Walk helped for 2 weeks and then she got used to it, and the halti did nothing. I need something super strong and that will STOP pulling, not just curb it. Anyone have any ideas?

my kitten is having a hard time pooping...it just started yesterday so i called the vet and they told me to get some hairball medicine and give it to him 3 times a day until he's better...what kind has the most amount of "laxitive" in it to help him better? also what kind has a better taste so my kitten will eat it willingly instead of me having to force him

I have a 5 year old german shepherd mix female Wehave had her for about 9 months and still, whenever we call her she comes to us with her head down, then just lays there on her back. Any suggestions as to why she does this and if there is any way we can earn her trust enough to change this behavior?

The temp in his basking area is 81-85 F and his water is 72-75 F. He is eating and a very active swimmer. He is about 3" long and resides in a 40 gallon enclosure. He mostly hides underneath this floating platform on the opposite side of the beach/ basking lamp, but he never gets on top of that either. The only time I have seen him out of the water in the two weeks I have had him is when I lead a trail of food from the water to the basking area, but he just takes the food back into the water. Anything I can do? Am I doing anything wrong. Plus I have two guppies in the tank with him, I want him to learn to hunt and get food on his own (guppies). Should I withhold some food from him until he hunts the fish out of nessecity or will he eventually switch to fish anyways?

My baby's father has a pit bull. It is not trained and the only person it will sometimes listen to is him. She jumps on people and is mouthy, even when you tell her to stop numerous times.

The dog is 3yrs female and is not spayed. I'm five months pregnant and she almost knocked me on the floor...because she wouldn't stop jumping on me. I could have been seriously hurt because I was standing on steps and she was at the top of the stairs. My BD told her to stop, if I had not had the railing to grab onto I would have fallen down the stairs.

She is also a very jealous dog.

He loves the dog and trust the dog, but he is a terrible dog owner. Because she isn't trained at all, he keeps her locked up in a cage all day and when he lets her out she runs wild.

I don't want my baby around this dog, I don't trust her. I don't want him to have our baby at his house without me there. I don't want to take any chances. This will probably ruin our relationship. But what can I do?

Not counting sounds eg) hearing car in driveway at same time every day & sitting by the door. How do kitties know it's 5 minutes before the alarm goees off? Not 4 minutes or 6 minutes. Precisely 5 minutes. Give an example please.

My boyfriend's dog had a hemangiopericytoma cancer removed from his armpit. It healed at first, but started comming back and the dog litterally licked the area raw. We keep the area covered and have him in a cone collar to keep him away from the site, but it,s not healing and he is bleading through the bandage. He moans and growls even though I keep giving him Metacam pain meds. The vet says there is nothing more they can do since the cancer is recuring. Is there any hope if this healing or is it time to put him down? My boyfriend doesn't seem to think he is in pain and is ignoring the situation. Any suggestions?

when I adopted my 6 month old male neutered kitten back in July I gave him a bath right when I brought him home just to get all the fleas off. he had about 20-23 fleas then. well, Labor Day, I gave him a bath again because I saw what looked like a flea on his belly. after I gave him a bath I counted those fleas and all in all I found about 10-12 on him. but for the past week I've been noticing that he'd been scratching more than usual so yesterday I gave him another bath and this time he had a total of 26 fleas on him!! why is it not getting rid of the fleas? I don't think that the flea shampoo that I use is killing any of the eggs in his fur and a couple of weeks later they're all hatching in him. in 2 weeks I'm going to give him another bath to try to kill all the eggs that hatch and try to prevent them from laying eggs in him. I just don't understand why it's soooo hard for him to get rid of the fleas. why is it taking so long to get rid of them on him? Thanks!

I have a gourami with a red-tailed shark and a small catfish. The gourami seems to have killed off the other two gouramis I had over the weekend. What other kind of fish would go well with a gourami?

I have a cat that is having litterbox issues and has been using my family room as a litterbox. It's been going on for a while now, and I've realized she's going to continue to do it until the smell is completely eliminated, which is hard since the room is completely carpeted and there is no way to keep her out of there. She used to be my mom's cat, and my mom lives in New York. My mom agreed to take her back until we move there next spring (that's another thing too- we are going to be trying to sell our house so I don't need her there continually stinking it up). We live in St. Louis. What is the best way to get the cat to her (I really can't afford to hop on an airplane just to take the cat there). Can you ship a cat? How much does it cost? Thanks!
