I am looking for a dog and I would like to know where you buy the magazines to get them.

Don't bother wasting your money on a magazine. I'm not sure any exist except for ads placed by breeders, some of whom may be reputable, and some of whom are probably shady.
Check your local pounds and shelters or look on Petfinders. You can find lots of dogs in your area, both purebred and mixes.
Adopt a dog and save a life.

I would say go to your local pet shelter. That is what I am doing. I went there and I found the best dog. He is a border collie and is just a hoot! With local pet shelters I know it can seem like you don't know what you are getting yourself into, but the place I went to they had him checked by a licensed vet and they observed his temperment to see what he was like. I went in and asked about some of the different dogs and the people there were able to give me a full run down of what he was like! Plus the price is out standing. For $90.00 I am getting him fixed, a microchip put in him, a bag of dog food to start him up with, & another vet visit. It is awesome, because to get those three things are usually really expensive. So go check out an animal shelter! Save a life adopt!

So, I guess I'm the first to actually answer your question. There is a magazine called "Dog Fancy"--runs ads for all breeds by reputable breeders. Also, there is Dogs USA and Puppies USA, an annual publication that has many informative articles on puppy/dog care, picking the right breed for you, etc. It also lists breeders. You can pick up copies of either at your local PetSmart or PetCo. Good luck!

why dont you just go to the pound and get a pup or dog that is looking for a good home that is pretty cheap to get instead of spending hundreds of dollars for a namebrand dog ? Save a life instead and give one of them dogs a good home . they are just as good as those expensive dogs and less sickly to. You start getting into purebreeds you end up with medical expensives. I havent met a person yet that is one of my friends that has one of them expensive dogs and have medical problems out the ying yang and my little pound puppy not a problem in the world

No magazines sell dogs.
Not all breeder ads in Dog Fancy (and similar publications) are from reputable breeders. No magazine screens breeders before accepting money for their ad.
