do you own a chinchilla? Im thinking about buying one at the local petstore when i have the money for the pet, cages, foodd, ect.
i was wondering if they are:
1.hard to care for
2.is it similiar to take care of like a guinea pig or hamster?
3.how big should the cage be just for one animal?
4.should i buy a chinchilla from brand name petstore liek petsmart/petco, or should i buy from a local breeder (at petsmart thay are selling a male for 150 dollars, is that alot of money for these animals?)?
5.what are some signs (health wise) too look for when buying a chinchilla?
6.and this is a random question but do you think that if im allergic to guinea pigs wil i be allergic to a chinchilla? lol

thanks in advance.
any other important advice would be great too!

also if you have a chinchilla please tell me how you like him/her and their temperment (if they bite, or are aggressive or not) or any other things you liek about your pet =)

When he sees I am eating or drinking milk he sticks his face in the glass when I have it up to my mouth. He also grabs my food.. I say" NO" and put him on the floor."He jumps back again. I tried hitting his nose like I was told. He still jumps up again.
I tried putting him in his crate while I eat,He cries. Even when I open the door. He won't come out for 4 to 5 hours.crying the whole time.
I take him out and he runs back in and cries . He still stays in and cries.
He takes it too hard.My other kitten doesn't steal my food.

My maltese-poodle seems to be more unwilling to share/agressive ever since she got into a pretty bad fight with her sister - a female Chihuahua. After the fight, the two girls had to be separated all the time. We have since found a new home for the Chihuahua who was instigating all the fights...we want to get another dog, but I'm scared that our Maltese-mix will hurt a puppy. I'm just wondering if she'd act differently with a male dog, maybe a larger breed would be more intimidating, too??

I'm looking to adopt a goldendoodle, and I found this "breeder" in Kansas. I'm considering this option due to their fair prices. People in California are charging upwards of $2K for goldendoodles - which is absolutely ridiculous!! We're not poor and my husband and I are aware of the financial responsibility of owning a dog. But, we are not stupid enough to pay $1K-$2K for an animal...heck, I don't have to pay my husband anything in order to get pregnant and have a child!!!

I'm not sure what to do about my bunny, is this normal behavior?

My cat does this ceremonial little thing with her paws before she lays down. She picks up her paws and keeps putting them down in the same place about 20 or 30 times. What's that about? Sometimes, she rebings, too.

Like I've said she swims with her head facing the gravel, in the middle of the orb, just still, not really moving, not even floating up...
She's only a baby, and she's only started doin this recently. What can I do? She shares a Big Bio Orb with two other black moores, an older moore and one of the same age, they all get along most of the times (simon is playful occasionally) I feed them cucumber (which they LOVE.), and aquarian flakes, and floating pellets. (Altho I get them wet b4.) Plz, if n e 1 knows anything, I'd really appreciate some advice. Thanks for your time. x

I have a 2 yr old German Shepard who is just too skinny and yes we do feed him....He has been checked for worms, treated even though they couldn't find any....All his blood work came back fine. He is very hyper...He weighed 90 lbs in Jan. then by July had lost 20 pounds....I changed the food and give him the expensive stuff now from the vet...dry and canned...I think he is gaining a little weight back...He was on a very cheap food before and we think that is what the problem was....But I want to know if there is a high fat or better food out there to help him gain his weight back and look better..he just looks so skinny still. We live in a small town, and have a small fenced in yard and I do take him on a 2 mile walk around the park nearby each day......for me and him....training and for health....am I over doing it there???? Any suggestions welcome!
Thanks!

i have a feeding regime that includes softfoods and supplements given on a regular basis to my budgerigars.my average clutch of eggs this year was nine with a 99.9% hatch rate, due to the large numbers of chicks per nest i had to use foster parents to rear half the chicks hatched.i think this year i have at last found the successful way to feed birds to increase fertility.the question i ask could a correct diet help those people who would love to have a child but have problems trying to concieve.we are what we eat.
