I have a year old border collie mix who has separation anxiety. She barks constantly and is destructive when we aren't home. We are getting complaints from the neighbors. We have used muzzles, vibrating collars, and pharamone treatments to get her to stop and she still isn't. We also have resorted to crating her. Any advice?

We adopted a 4 year old female Jack Russell Terrier this past weekend. She was a breeding dog kept in an outdoor kennel her entire life. She is kind of shy and for some reason she won't leave our Pet room(large back mud room we have all the pet stuff in). She hasn't had any accidents in there-always waits till we take her out, but as soon as we bring her back in she runs for that room again. She will stand in the doorway and watch everything we do, but won't come out. I don't want to drag her out, but I would like her to come in the house with us so she can get to know us. Any suggestions to gently coax her out? I don't want to frighten her by just picking her up and making her come or just closing the door.

I have two female cats. One is a year and 2 months old, and the other is about 11 months old. The older cat is a nice healthy weight, if anything she may be a few pounds too heavy. My younger cat, however, is very skinny. Her shoulder blades and hip bones are very prominant. Both the cats get dry food 1-2 times a day, and I have been giving the skinny cat wet food once a day (on her own so the older cat can't get to it). However, she is still skinny. I don't know if this helps, but the older (and bigger) cat is fixed, but the younger (skinny) cat is not, and was in heat a month or two ago. Is there something wrong with her? What can I do to help her gain weight a little?

My cat is about 11 years old. This past year he seems to be more of a chicken then he use to be. Where he would playfully attack a spider or bug, he now jumps like three feet in the air when they come near him. My inlaws have come to visit us and he is acting more spooked then he ever has. He has stayed away from them and stayed hidden for three days now.

They were here a year ago and he was all loving with them like he has been with everyone since I got him as a kitten. I'm more concerned about maybe mental disorder or something. I hate the idea of having to put him to sleep but we are having a baby in two weeks and I don't want a mentally sick cat being a danger to our baby.

1. do animal shelters accept food related dog toys as donations? (did call the shelter - no answer, didn't want to leave a message)

2. I am sure the perverts will be all over this question. one of my dogs gets erections all the time even though he is nueterd. he is the only one that does. I didn't think that was possible??? it happens when he gets excited about getting a treat or attention. why does he get them if he is nurterd.

How can they be so hypocritical? Cesar trains dogs with behavior that is in the "red zone" and without his help these dogs would more than likely be put to sleep. Cesar takes these dogs rehibilitates them so that they get a second chance at life. Now this SPCA website says that they put down dogs who have serious behavior problems. So they are saying that it is humane to just put down a red zone dog rather than training it and giving it a chance at life. To me this is so hypicritcal and that this SPCA believes that killing dogs is more humane than doing what cesar does with dogs. Cesar gives them a chance to live!!!! I applaud him for what he does.

I recently adopted a 4-year-old miniature pinscher. He seems to be house broken but over the last couple of days he’s went to the bathroom in the house a couple of times (just poop). I let him our regularly and clean up these accidents very well when they happen. What can I do to help stop this very undesirable trend he has started. He’s a good dog but I can’t handle having to clean up his messes like this for very much longer, hah. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Let me start off by saying I have already called the vet and am taking my dog there. I am at work right now worrying about him and was wondering is anyone could offer advice. He sleeps with us and when we woke up we noticed he had peed in the bed. This is rare because he is fully housebroken. Plus, he slept in his pee with is usual for dogs too. Yesterday when my husband came home to check on him at lunch he had torn a small part of the carpet up. About 1 week ago (don't laugh this really happened) he had a problem with his penis. He was humping one of his toys (he is a little maltese) and got a huge erection that would not go back into the foreskin for about 20 minutes. We called the vet the next day he said not to worry since this was the first time it happened. Now in combo with the other things it seems like something is wrong with him. I am taking him to the vet but can anyone offer any advice? Anyones dog had a similar problem?

He is almost 2yrs old and he started this 2wks after getting a kitten. He still gets plenty of attention so I know that isn't the problem. He gets in trouble for it,rubbing his nose in it and has to sleep outside but still hasn't stopped. I also leave him out for at least an hour before his bedtime. I even cut out his pm feeding and that's not working. Help!! I might have to get rid of him and don't want to.

I bought a Silver Dapple Dachshund and she is 8 weeks old now. Everytime I take her outside to use the bathroom, she goes. But I am always finding poop in the only two rooms that have carpet, my bedroom and my daughters. I have tried everything to keep her from doing so but it still happens. I got the cleaner that removes the scent, showing her the mess and telling her no and then placing her outside, etc...... So now I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what can be done???? Im going insane cleaning poop all the time, I love her to death but cleaning poop is getting old because it seems everytime I move I find more and now I hate to even more without looking..... PLEASE HELP!

I would think it would be able to trace bloodlines and be able to pinpoint pedigrees and thorobreds.

Whats the difference from a Sorrel horse, and a chesnut? I'm trying to figure out my horse (that was sold without my permission) what his coat color was. He was a paint. But he didn't look it.
