In 9th grade my son won the state science fair in Ohio on his experiement with fish! What he did was gety 2 bowls. One bigger than the other, get 2 fish the same size. Feed them both the same amount of food everyday and see if the one fish grows bigger because he has a bigger environment! The fish in the big bowl did grow bigger! He was more active and ate more food than the one in the small bowl. The one in the small bowl didnt have much room to swim and play so ate less so didnt grow as much! Good luck to u

How much time do you have? If you're familiar with Pavlov (he taught dogs to salivate at the sound of bell through positive reinforcement), you can do something similar. Teach a bird a special trick or a mouse to run a maze by positive reinforcement (a food reward each time the trick is done correctly). Its classic, interesting and always entertaining.

I'd use hamsters. Perhaps you could do a project on how hamsters adapt to the Habitrail environment, and about how they stuff things in their cheeks.
