1. do animal shelters accept food related dog toys as donations? (did call the shelter - no answer, didn't want to leave a message)

2. I am sure the perverts will be all over this question. one of my dogs gets erections all the time even though he is nueterd. he is the only one that does. I didn't think that was possible??? it happens when he gets excited about getting a treat or attention. why does he get them if he is nurterd.

It is just a natural and normal response to being excited..The blood pressure and heart rate rises, and pumps more blood to areas where there is not normally so much blood pumped...
You will see this in infant human baby boys...not testerone induced.

so with dogs as well as people, it has little to do with testosterone or being neutered.

Other question.. I haven't met the shelter that would turn down donations..toys, or other..

1. Animal shelters do accept donations, if they are affiliated with adoption agencies, such as PAWS, who I work for. We do drives for donations.

2. The dog's erection is normal. Even though the testicles have been removed, the dog's blood flow to that area is completely normal. A dog who is neutered can even tie to a female after being neutered. The erection in a dog, happens for various non-sexual reasons. Excitement, joy, happiness...they all cause the blood to flow faster, and that area fills up just like it does in humans.

Testicular removal does not stop erections. That is a common misconception.

Most animal shelters will be glad to take any kind of donation you can offer. Local humane groups, animal control, etc are all possibilities. Even rescues that use foster homes can always use food, collars, treats, beds, etc. Our animal control is more like a doggy jail so they are jerks and don't give the dogs toys or beds, but a humane society or rescue organization may be more open to those kinds of donations.

Some dogs just do that. My first foster dog did that whenever he got excited. The vet says it's no big deal, and some dogs just do it. It was a little disturbing, but there's not much you can do about it. Just laugh and say "I guess he got to keep his manhood after all".

1. Shelters do accept food, litter, toys, blankets, treats, flea treatments, shampoos, etc. Bleach is also something they use and accept.

2. Neutering does not prevent erections, but prevents them from getting females pregnant, and also keeps them from wandering due to hormones and females in heat.

1. drop the toys off. sheleters need all the help they can get.
2. all my males are neutered and some still get erections. just because the nuts are gone, doesn't mean the feelings are gone.

1) Yes! They welcome any and almost all animal food offerings you may have.

2) Nothing to do with "breeding" . A mans testicles retract up
into his body partially when cold is applied. Women have a problem dealing with cold too..especially braless.
