If someone has both the space and time then more than 3 dogs isn't a huge problem. My neighbor, a stay at home woman, keeps 6 small dogs and they are all trained and cared for well. Dogs are less bothersome that children and there is no limit (legally) to how many of those one can have.

If they are happy and the pets are well cared for, not a problem. I have a dog and two cats, and it's a full house but I love it. My county allows a maximum of 3 dogs. Not sure if there's a cat limit. I personally couldn't handle 3 dogs, but lots of people have the time, love, energy, and finances to handle that many so more power to them.

Um, what exactly is wrong with that? As long as they are well taken care of.. I had 3 dogs and a cat for years...They were happy as can be, and I loved them all for different reasons..The only reason I don't anymore is because I lost my little Yorkie about a month ago..nothings the same at home. Its a hard thing. So I guess I don't see anything wrong with having multiple pets-as long as they are completely taken care of in all ways...Hopefully someday I can afford to have a dozen!

My family has 3 dogs and a cat...and my aunt's family has FIVE dogs and 2 cats. There is NOTHING wrong with this if you take care of them. Why do you even care if people have this many animals, its none of your business. Obviously they are animal lovers and want to give these dogs good homes. Animals bring joy to peoples lives. Its not because they dont have any friends that is absurd(well i guess its true for some people) but not usually. Everyone in my family is a social butterfly. We just love our animals:)

I had 3 large dogs at one time! Two were labs that I purchased and the 3rd was this lab/chow mix, she was the runt of her litter and the last remaining without a home. She was like a tiny golden fur ball! How could I refuse her? All three of them lived happy, long, healthy lives. I took them everywhere I could and all were obedience trained and great companions. I live near the ocean and that was our favorite past time, swimming together in the ocean and chasing balls in the surf!
If anyone disapproves of my having 3 dogs, well, that's to bad! I think if you could have asked my dogs, they would have told you they were very happy.
Take Care

My parents have 3 dogs and 1 cat at their home. I don't see a problem with having lots of pets as long as you have the time to care for them.

Why not? I have 6. Some people are able to care for multiple dogs, and some people struggle to take proper care of one.
A friend of mine has 30 some dogs. She takes EXCELLANT care of her animals and pretty much devotes her whole life to caring for them. The people across the street have a single dog and he is left out all day every day to bark and lunge at people. Is the single dog in a good home because they only have one? Is my friend wrong because she has devoted her time to her dogs?
Numbers really have NOTHING to do with it. If they are not able to care for the animals it is to many, whether it is one or 30.

I had 2 and my hubby had 2. when we got married neither one of us could make the other get rid of any of them. We have 2 kids and we say as long as the dogs don't outnumber the people, it's fine.
We have a fenced yard for them to stay within. We also don't allow our dogs to run around outside barking and especially not after dark. Other than that, it's not any of my neighbors business.

Animals are great and if you have the room and the time why not have the animals? As long as the pets are cared for and well behaved they are great. We are an absolute pet loving family, one dog, two cats and a Guinea pig. (my fish died.) Having the pets is a lot of work but teaches my kids responsibility, empathy and patience. However it is not for everyone.
