A couple of months ago my 9 year old female cat began to defecate in the floor evrey once in a while. I have a 10 year old male cat, but I knew it wasn't him because Lucy has gone through phases where she's done this before. She's finicky, so I cleaned the litter box. It didn't help. She has only gotten worse. She's doing it more often and is not bothering to try to be secretive about it anymore. She unloaded in the dining room tonight while I was not far away in the kitchen cooking. What can I do? I am at my wits end with her! Before this, I had to endure months of her urinating in the floor, now this. She still uses the litter box occasionally, but sometimes will defecate right next to it! HELP!!!

I recently tested my water and the only thing that was a little bit off was how soft my water is (the reading was 120). I'd like to raise it a bit higher because i have a school of black phantom tetras that like harder water. Is there anything around the house i can use to raise the hardness? ive heard of people putting baking soda in the water, does this work?

He bites my toes, ankles, anything he can reach. He is also very loving and sweet, he rubbs against me all the time. But sometimes for no reason mostly in the mornings when im brushing my teeth or cooking. Is he bi-polar or does he just want attention?

right now my dog has a total of 8 pups. just this morning was the 8th pup she had. and its a runt. the poor thing can barley move. every time he trys to get milk the other pups push him aside. i dont know what to do with the poor thing it cant get milk. should i buy a speacial formela to hand rasie him are just leave him with his mother. please help.

my dog is a chihuahua mix and about once every few months or weeks, he has some kind of seizure. it seems as if he loses control of his legs and he starts shaking uncontrollably and dragging himself on the floor. he looks like he's dizzy cuz he limps and throws his head around bumping into the wall and stuff. he drools excessively and sometimes he barfs after. sometimes it lasts a few minutes and other times just about one minute. we treat my dog great. he gets proper food, treats, exercise, and we play with him all the time. he stays in the backyard, so could something have been exposed to him or something? could some kind of animal have given him a disease? or maybe he ate wood and grass and stuff in the yard. he eats human food too. is that a problem? what's wrong with my dog and what can we do to help him?

I want to build or have built an outdoor enclosure for my three cats with a cat door into my house so they can come and go as they please. I want it to be secure (structurally sound) and to look nice and blend in with the landscape. Any suggestions? Are there companies that sell prefabricated enclosures? I live at South end of the San Francisco Bay near San Jose, CA. Do you know of anyone in this area who specializes in building these enclosures? Would you recommend them?

everytime our dog Freckles shakes off or jumps around, she has what looks like dandruf coming off and it shows pretty well on her black fur. and now she's scratched one spot so much that she has a large scratch and she has lost a little fur around the area.

For two weeks now the hampster is not going in the wheel and just sleeps in a corner all day and night, it is breathing very slow and seems like its dying. It is still eating and drinking some water. One eye is closed shut and the back side of the hampster seems to be bloated....I called vets and they dont see hampsters... any opinions?

This is what happened:
A thief broke in a place that was being watched by a dog. The dog (a Rottweiler) bit him, and the thief bleed to death. Later, a Judge wanted to order that the dog had to be put to "sleep the eternal dream" :).

I have a 7 yr. old indoor male cat. Since the birth of my 2nd son he has taken to urinating (not spraying) all over the house. It's been almost 2 yrs now and after numerous tests, the vet tells me he is perfectly healthy, just has an attitude and there is nothing I can do about it. So tell me, is it more humane to euthanize him or make him an outdoor cat only? I've had both recommendations from different people.
BTW - I am against euthanizing him for this. He ISN'T starving for attention. We play with him and cuddle with him constantly, he's just po'd. AND, I've contacted a ton of rescue agencies and NO ONE will take him because he is considered "unadoptable" with this behavior. SO, I after kicking him outside, I want to make sure I was doing the right thing. I guess I need some validation to make me feel less guilty about the situation as a whole.
PLEASE no sarcastic answers, just real pet owners who can offer some sound advice.
