I am getting a cat and I was wondering what brand of food is good for the cat? He is eating IAMS right now but that gets pretty expensive fast and I didn't know if there is another brand out there that is a little cheaper and is just as good. Please make recommendations

Constipation has become a major problem during past 2 months. Vet x-rayed her and found colon was full. Gave her 4 enemas and put her on a lubricant/laxative, but problem is still there (3 weeks) She now poos outside the box, but not always. I'm at my wit's end. Any help out there? Could the medication be causing the constipation?

I brought my male Siberian Husky inside because it is so hot outside and also because he has been sick. The vet is still trying to rule things out, but she thinks that he may have Addisons Disease. Anyways, I have had him in the kitchen since it is the only room besides the bathroom that has tile, but he keeps grabbing onto the baby gate in the doorway with his teeth and pulling it down so he can come lay down in the living room. He usually lays by my feet under the computer or by the couch and doesn't get into stuff. He has not (amazingly) peed or pooped in the floor. He prefers laying in the living room for some reason, even though I got him a bed made up in the kitchen. Would it be alright to let him stay in the living room at night and during the day when we are at work? He usually pulls down the baby gate anyways, but if it isn't a good idea I could always find another way to close off the kitchen. Any ideas?

In a 30 gal. reef tank w/ numerous corals (mostly soft and LPS) and clams, lived a 2 in. maroon clownfish, a lawnmower blenny, and a yellow tang. Over the last few months I've tried to add 4 new dwarf angels (flame or potters). All 4 seemed happy and un-stressed all day until the lights went out. The next day they were either floating or being consumed by numerous bristleworms. I tried removing the clown, then the tang, and still no luck! Could these bristleworms (some up to 6 in. long) attack and kill new additions but ignore acclimated inhabitants? Should I try adding a lined wrasse and see what happens? If not than what?

He is so out of line. I opened the garage door today to let him come in the house and he bolted. I commanded him to stop and he ignored me. I think maybe some ole ***** down the street may be in heat in a fenced in yard. I hear my dog crying and sqwalling and carrying on for the last 2 days late at nite.

She is a couple years old and she grabbed a thigh off of the table after my daughter took them out of the frying pan. She seems to be fine, but should I be worried about her digesting them? Is there anything I can feed her to help her digest them and guard against internal injuries?

ok. when the chicken was done(it was fried) my mom told me to take it out and put it on the table. so i put it a little near the edge not paying attention. i come back in the kitchen 5 minutes later and i saw the dog with the chicken in her mouth. she ate a little more than half and the majority of the bone. shes a pitbul so she is a pretty big dog.the bone was cooked pretty well and seemed to be pretty soft, and she seems to be fine but we are still keeping our eyes on her. should i be worried or do you think she will be ok?

please help me. im kinda worried.

I am moving into a small studio apartment all by myself soon and I want a pet for company. My complex won't let you have dogs and you have to pay way too much money to have a cat. I was thinking of getting a ferret but I hear way too many bad things about them. So I thought a Chinchilla would be my best bet. But unfortunately I know nothing about them. Please help!

My wife and I have a minature dachshund. He just turned 3. Really good dog.He seems to like his crate. He is in it about 15 days a month for around 8 hours a day. The rest of the days my wife or I am home and hes free to go about the house. Hes in it every night for 8 hours or so sleeping. Most mornings we have to wake him up. After we take him out to use the bathroom, he sometimes goes right back in it to sleep, so he must like it. My wife and I are gonna be out of town, from around 7am to 7pm 2 days a month for the next 4 months. Is 12 hours to long to leave him in it? Like I said, itll only be 2 days out of the month, and they will be around 2 weeks apart. We think the world of him, so we want whats best for him. We dont have anyone who could watch him, or even take him out to the bathroom sometime during that day. We dont like the idea of leaving him out all day.So, again, my question is, is 12 hours ok if its only 2 days out of a month? Thanks!

My dog's stomach will sometimes look bloated after meals, and he will be listless. This has been happening for a couple of weeks, however, and after he defecates he feels better and is his normal rowdy self. He eats slowly and few short meals. He is a 9 week old Golden. He is not interested in eating sometimes. Could this be bloat? Isn't that a sudden attack of gas? Anyone have any info? Thanks!

So far we have not let Penelope into bed with us. She does cry a little when we go to bed and in the middle of the night when she wants to play. She has a very comfy bed of her own next to our bed, so it's not like she is locked out of our room.

I recently purchased some fish. One of them was a female guppy. I believe she carried fin rot into my tank because she died shortly after I bought her. Then a couple days later my goldfish of 5 years died. He had green speckles on him and the ends of his fins looked rotted. I immediatley began to believe it was fin rot. I got fungus killers & fin/tail rot killer. (My goldfish past away about a week ago) Now my male guppy is showing the same symptoms and his fins are defiently deteriating (sry about spelling). Im afraid the rest of my fish are going to catch the disease and die also. Today I purcahsed anti-bacterial remedy that is suppose to get rid of fin rot in a week. Any suggestions?

I ask this question because a friend of mines told me that her 1-1/2 year old cat urinated on her while she was sleeping. She woke up with the cat over her neck urinating on her. Why? I myself have no answer for her. The only thing I could ask her was what did you do to the cat? She said "nothing."

I have a 8 yr old male & a 2 yr old female. They have been living together since I got my little cat. They are both inside cats and have never been outside. Until yesterday... my male escaped and was outside for a couple of hours. I finally found him and brought him back in and now my girl is hissing and growling (and all that mean stuff cats are capable of) towards my male. They are literally best friends and have always been together but now she is acting like hes a stranger cat that wants to hurt her. My male is getting very upset (his feelings are getting hurt BAD) I mean this is his best friend thats trying to fight him now. Any suggestions?
