depends on the weight, size, the breed, the weather, the age. There are many variables. Look on the side on the container of food, there should be a guide.

Just a note to the person who said that dogs will stop eating if they know their food is supposed to last. It depends on the breed. Example: Dachshunds and beagles are known for eating until they become sick. This is dangerous and can lead to bowel obstruction or a condition called intussusception, which is basically a twisting of the intestines. Both can be fatal. What if your dog was to become sick while you were away and no one was there to find him for several days? Always best to have someone look in on the pets once or twice a day and feed them at those times. Another option is a pet hotel. Petsmart has a great one with actual rooms (with a door, soft bed, toys, water and a TV). The dogs get "doggie camp" a couple of times a day where they can get out and socialize with the Petsmart people and other dogs. They even have doggie ice cream! Good luck

Yes, it does depend on the type of dog and size. I have four dachshunds and I put in one half cup per dog, twice a day. The biggest of my dogs weighs 15 pounds. As far as the water goes, I keep it full all the time, and down all the time. Water is good for dogs, and in summer you can even put in ice cubes to keep it cold. Some dogs even like to chew on them.
But I will tell you this as I have told every one about dogs, do not buy Old Roy dog food. It is the worst kind you can get. I found that out first hand. It is the bottom of the barrel food and really bad. My dog had a reaction to it. Hers eyes ran, like she was crying all the time. My friend and I use dog food called "Back to Basics" It is all natural food and you can use it even for puppies. You don't have to change to a different food as they get older. And it helps with the pooping also. Don't go as much and it keeps it formed. Not runny like some dog foods do. It costs a little more then some. For a 32 pound bag with tax cost 35.00$. But it is good and lasts for a while. But with a bigger dog you do have to feed them more. Puppies have to be fed about 3 to 4 times a day. As they get older you can feed them twice a day, moring and early evening. After about six don't feed them any more, and have a set night time last time potty outing. But the water I still keep down, and let them drink when needed.

Hope this helps you and if you need more info, send me a line and I will be glad to help if I can. Thank you for asking and have a nice night.

Depends on the size of the animal...the back of the bag of dog/cat food usually has a table with the proper amounts. Unlimited fresh water should be available all day.

If its a one month old pup then feed him milk with cerelac five times a day...then slowly you can start feeding him thrice a day with rice and boiled vegetables and some meat..dogs love meat...you can also feed him pedigree in the morning or evening...but dont feed him pedigree all the time because they get bored by the same flavour and stop eating...when the dog grows up twice a day is enough...but dont forget to keep a bowl of fresh water near him all the time...

Aloha~It depends on size etc. The instructions should be on the bag or can. It usually goes by weight based on the type of food. Have fun...pets are wonderful.

just check the labels on the back of the pet food...it will tell you how much your animal should consume each day for its weight.

it depends on the size of the animal...a lot of the cans of pet food will tell you the amount of calories or food your pet should have based on its weight...
