In my experience, the engish do have different personalities. Mine are less playful and more aloof than the normal, but can be just as loving if handled correctly, especially at a young age. I don't have a talker yet, but am working on it and I did have one that barked like a terrier and use to use it as though it were French to woo his mate.

English Budgies are mainly popular due to they are entered in Bird shows more. They are also larger than the regular American Budgies. The answer to your question if they have different personalities or talk more or less, no they are pretty much the same. The English Budgie owners may have difference in oppinion as say a Amazon Parrot owner may say their Amazon makes a great loving pet bird and another person may disagree.

I belive english budgies are friendlier then the wild type as the have been bred for companionship,as well as physical appearence.Talking ability in either form depends on the individual bird, however budgies hold the world record for highest word count of any bird!even more then the african grey.

I'll do one better!

Poly wants a **** in the lift on my way up to my flat while wearing my mac and my colouring in blue, how are you!

Now, you really want your bird to speak like that!

I don't think that they talk any more than "regular" ones, but they do speak with a sort of odd accent...

"Polly doesn't want a cracker, Polly wants tea."
