Our 2-yr old tabby (Cooper) developed a bad habit last year. We moved his litter box from our office/guest room into our bathroom. After we did that, he would use his litter box, but would also pee on the spot of carpet where the box use to be. We have punished him, cleaned the carpet 3x, put baking soda on it right after we find that he does it, & used a stain/odor remover. We even moved the box on that spot, but he still pees as close as that spot as he can. He was neutered when he was very young and has a clean bill of health by the vet. If he was spraying on lots of verticle surfaces or peeing on more spots, I would worry about a health/mental problem; but it is only one spot in our apartment and he only hits it when he has the opprotunity. Now we have to keep the door closed all the time. The best remover we have found was 'Kids N Pets', which works great, but he still marks that spot. Any suggestions or cleaners that go to the carpet padding (which we can't pull up)?
