ph chemicals dont work, u have fresh water fish? if so and your ph stays steady dont worry about it, the fish will adapt, you will just have to drip acclimate any new additions to your tank (slowly add water from you tank into the bag before releasing the fish

Answer my first question: why are you messing with the natural levels of your pH?

Unless you have some very sensitive fish, you should never EVER add anything to change your pH. If anything, the swings in pH will kill your fish faster than high or low pH. Be very careful when adding chemicals to adjust pH, and do it slowly so as not to shock your fish.

Secondly..crap.. I forgot my second point. Oh, yeah. Some pH products will take up to 24 hours for you to see any difference in your readings. Are you using a liquid test kits that use test tubes and such, or are you using the paper strips? If possible, always test with the liquid and test tubes, as these are usually more accurate than the strips.

a ph of 7 is neutural so youre pretty much adding no acid and no base. i dont think there is supposed to be a color change to be quiet honest.
