Most dog walking positions are only really availible in larger cities. It takes a while to build a reputation and client base too, but you can make a solid living if you are a likeable person and good with the dogs. Add in dog sitting and you can easily make a 6 figure tax free income in a place like Philadelphia. OK, maybe not easily 6 figures... but it can be done.

Do you know and get along with your neighbors well? That's a good place to start. When I first got my pups, a 12 yr old girl kept chatting w/me about my dogs. She started a business of "retrieving lost pets" after she helped me find my runaways so much. I eventually hired her as my pet sitter when I needed one. She was so responsible, I paid her very well. We moved and we still miss her. We've had neighbor kids knocking on our doors wanting to do odd jobs, all summer. If you live in a safe neighborhood, you could try this, assuming you are not far from others!

Yes, it is called a dog walker.....lol If you live in a large city, you could probably make a lot of money doing it, but it would mean cleaning up lots of dog poop! LOL

Three figures, yes, but don't forget to carry a _LARGE_ scoop.
There be often ordinances with teeth which must be reckoned with.
Plus what do you with litigious dogs who just won't go along or get along ?.
