My dog, a 5 year old West Highland Terrier, dug through the trash today while we where not looking. The other night we had hot, and I mean HOT, wings and she chewed up the bones. Now she keeps whining and I don't know if it is because of the Spice or the bones. What should I do? I understand bones cause splintering.

I'm really worried! It's night time here, so the vets won't be open. Anything I could do at home?

My poodle dug through the trash and ate chicken bones 2 years ago. After a few hours, he began having bloody stools, and became very weak. I took him to the vets right away. The bones had splintered, and were causing damage to his insides. Eventually, they passed through, but he did require fairly extensive treatment at the vets. Do take your dog in as soon as the vet opens. My dog is fine now, but believe me, I have secured the trash container. I wish you luck.

My best advice is, try to reach ANY vet as soon as possible.
You're better off having a false alarm than losing your precious girl!
She might be sick from the sauces, but she might also have swallowed whole pieces of chicken bone, which is really bad! those bones can be really sharp and cause damage to the internal organs.
But what I recommend (from past experience) is to let her have plenty of water, and cook around half a cup of plain white rice, and let it cool before feeding it to her. This will help her digest what she ate in the meantime of reaching a vet. (my mini schnauzer had tummy problems, and this is what the vet recommended)
Hope your little sweetie will be fine! I know what it feels like when your dog has tummy problems!

Talk to your vet and let him/her know what is happening. If your really can't get the dog to the vet right away you need to watch for vomiting and liquid stool.
My dog, a St. Bernard, ate an entire turkey drumstick without chewing and lived to tell the tale. He did have some pretty uncomfortable few days however. My vet had us feed him Metamucil, sorry I think I spelled that wrong in order to regulate his bms. That was over a year ago and Jackson is still driving us nuts. :)
Good luck.

the rationalization human beings difficulty approximately canines with chicken bones is via the fact they're generally so brittle they might splinter whilst the canines is chewing them, and because they are not as hardship-free to digest they might reason inner injury. usually you may observe some thing interior the 1st 24 hours, consisting of a loss of ability and probably some swelling reckoning on the wear and tear. ideas you canines are designed to digest a great deal of issues we could in no way even evaluate putting in our mouths. on occasion they might consume issues like chicken bones or chocolate without being affected, and different instances they might die. by using fact the bones you defined have been extra springy (and KFC is a grease bucket), I somewhat tend to think of that their gadget replaced into able to interrupt it down sufficient to be risk-free. you may awaken the following day to come across the knob of a chicken bone of their stool, yet with the aid of now i'm particularly confident the probability has surpassed. If something replaced into incorrect you will not be asking us to confirm the timeline you have been given, you would be rushing your toddler to the vet by using fact you may see the version in habit. A heavily ill animal is in simple terms as hardship-free to % out as a healthful one, by using fact their finished mindset posture and expression replace heavily.

Take him to the vet. He just might be having trouble passing it, but bones are not for swallowing.
He sounds like he's in pain. Poor thing.

bones cause splintering but the reason for whining may be the bones are stuck in between its teeth.

Just watch her very closely. Chances are she will be okay. If she starts to show distress take her to the ER vet.
