Pets - 10 August 2006

When I take my dog on walks she usually afraid of most people and puts her tail in her legs, but at random people she'll lash out at them barking ferousiously and trying to snap at them, and theres no pattern in race or age. Why does she do this? Is there a pattern, or can dogs sense something about people?

I currently have a dwarf hamster (not syrian), he is 10wks old, and lives alone, I am going Saturday to get 2 or 3 more 4week old little hamsters to give him some company (all males) They are not from the same litter, will they get along if they are not from the same litter and raised together?

I can send someone a pic if they think they could tell us about how old they are? from head to tail I would say they are (about) 15 or so inches.

My dream is owning horses. Should I live in a apratment or live in a house on horse property? I read how much one horse's care would cost a year. (vet bills, farrier, hay for summer and or other seasons, cost of hay per horse, fly spray, wormers, farm fence and barn maintanence, and ect.) But right now I'm not sure what direction I should go in. I understand how much horses cost just to buy. And I also know that someone would need to make a decent living just to take care of themelves, their car (gas and insurance), mortage, water, heating and gas bills. But how much money would I need to make of year to take care of my horse(s), me and my house bills? And what if you are living by yourself?

I have an 11 year old cat in good health. I am going away for ten days on a vacation. The hotel I go to allows pets, but I really don't think he would like the 3 hour car trip or being left alone in the hotel. I imagine that it would be pretty tramatic for him. I think that I would be better off leaving him at my home and having my Dad who lives locally check on him every few days. I have an auto feeder and water tank for him already.

I would love to have a male Beta, and set up a tank specific for it. I know it would need a decent sized tank for it's own comfort, etc.

What would be the best size tank, and anything else I need before seeking one out?

I do have plenty of fish experience, I just haven't kept many Betas.

My 4 month kitten from 4 day ago was sometimes acting something like Puke but only with a voice, he was good with good condition. 2 days ago his breathing makes a little noise and from yesterday he did not eat anymore, his nose is shut by its own Secretions.
His breathing is not normal and sometimes his breathing remembers me a human who has shut noses and infected Fauces.

Is it possible that something like fish Bone in his Gorge?
What I should give him as food?
Please help me…

I know they fight but they are always in these tiny little bowls. They always look sick and unhealthy. If you put one in a larger tank with a filter would it thrive, and be healthy?
