Cockatiels come from Australia and unless you are in Australia I would feed the recommended cockatiel/parakeet food and fresh fruit and vegetables rather than a wild bird food for your native area. I would not feed European birds with a mixture of American wild seeds they do not know which is food and which is not.

No. Do not feed that to your "Tiel. It is not the same as what they would get in the wild, mainly due to pesticides which can kill a bird. Either try to stick with Harrison's Bird Food or ZuPreem Avian Maintenance pelleted food. Harrison's is organic, but, Zupreem is the next best thing. Feeding an all-seed diet to your birds can cause obesity (especially in cockatiels and Amazons. You can enter those food names in your search bar, go to the websites and read about the foods. If your bird absolutely WILL not convert, try the Vita Sun mix my Sun Seed. It is one of the better seed mixes on the market right now. If you have moths or bugs in the food, put it in the freezer, that will kill the moths and larvae, but, do not feed that food to your birds.

the great thing about birds is that they will pick through and take what they like out of bird feed. A good wild bird feed has a variety of things for them to choose from. Put a small amount in its cage, if nothing is gone then you may need to try a different approach.

Wild bird seed can have bugs or moths in it...don't use it for your cockatiel. It also won't have added vitamins and minerals if your bird is on a seed only diet. Be sure to offer your bird fresh veggies, fruits, pastas, and whatever he likes. Good luck!
