bettas are tropical and Goldfish are coldwater. Chances are your goldfish would nip at the bettas fins. Goldfish also need ten gallons per fish as a baby and up to 40 gallons per fish as an adult- they are a huge commitment as far as fish go. If you don't intend to care for it properly then why get one- it's just cruel.

Yes they can live together in the same tank just fine. Sometimes the personalities of the individual fish can come into play, so keep and eye on them for a few days to make sure there will be no fin nipping. I had a male betta in with my longfin goldfish and they were fine. Good luck.

NO! Goldfish excrete too much ammonia for tropical fish to handle. Also Goldfish prefer colder water temps because they require a high amount of dissolved oxygen in the water. (the warmer the water the less dissolved oxygen it holds) Bettas are carnivores and have different dietary requirements then goldfish too. Goldfish get alot larger then bettas, they get 12-14 inches and require 50 gallons PER adult goldfish, 10 gallons PER baby/juvenile fancy goldfish, 20 gallons PER baby/juvenile longbodied goldfish.
Bettas are only aggressive to their own kind and to perhaps fish that have long flowy fins that may be mistaken for another betta such as fancy male guppies. Other then that they pretty much get along fine with community tropical fish that arnt fin nippers aslong as the tank is 5 gallons or larger and has a filter and a heater.

i'd def say no.. my bro had some gold fish in with his beta fighting fish and they basically destroyed every other fish in like a week.. lol.. if u have a big enough tank, you can sometimes get dividers for a tank.. like have certain fish in one, and the other kind on the side of the divider.. theres lots of pet stores aroudn..

I wouldnt try it if you really love your fish. There is a slight possiblility they will get along but betas are known to fight. You may not see signs at first but that doesnt mean they arent fighting. You dont want any of your animals living in fear so dont group your fish togather like that.

We don't have fish at my home anymore . . . but when we did, the beta always had its own bowl. Too aggressive around others to stay in the big tank.

i wouldn't put my betta in with my goldfish because betta's seem to like living alone. The are definatly a fighting fish and since most goldfish have sorta long fins and tails, the betta will nip at them.So i dont recommend it.
