I would suggest a lion fish or a trigger fish (salt). The lion fish has stinging power (harmful to humans) and will actually stalk their prey. These are my favorite. We put a take wiht them in our bar as they are great for conversation. Trigger fish come in bright colors, swim differently than other fish, and you can see their teeth.

I like Dragon Gobies. They are long eel-like fish that eat feeder guppies.

They are freshwater. You can have multiple gobies. Just don't put fish you don't want eaten in with them.

try piranhas. they are small (about 6" long) and you can keep lots of them. The recommended aquarium is 50 gallons, so you may keep less to fit them in your 30 gallon tank.
