What pet should i get.I already have a dog,cat,fish,lizard,But those are my familys.Exept for the fish.I can get a smal pet,but i cant chose.I already had a hamster,Is that one good,or something else.I'm 12 and had expirience with a lot of animals my whole life,My mom will still helo me if i need it,But what pet should i get?

I have nothing against vets in general but I'm just wondering how many people here are in the vet. field or working to be a vet. Because every answer I see to ANY problem seems to be take her to the VET... just in case. Just wondering.

my persian/siamese cat has long hair. would she benifit from me shaving her for the summer? i live in the South, and the heat is attrocious. she seems uncomfortable even though she has access to ac and fresh, cool water.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what brand of dog food I should feed my Great Dane Pup Elway? He is 11 weeks old. Some sites have said that you should not feed a great dane puppy Puppy chow. Right now I feed him Purina Puppy Chow. ANy suggestions? Also how much should I feed him? I feed him three small meals a day which I soak in water first but how much dry food should I give him at each feeding? Help needed from an experienced Great Dane owner! thanks

she pees and poops on herself. I do not leave her in there long, no more than 3 hours at a time. She only does it during the day, not over night. I always take her out and make sure she goes before I put her in, and her feeding schedule has been adjusted accordingly. She has a very small crate, like she is supposed to (to fix this problem). Is this something she will grow out of? Is there something I can do to hasten it? She came from a bad home where the guy would leave her pent up all day and I think she was forced to go on herself.

Adopted from local humane group. Have had her about 10 days now. Good dog. but won't pee/poop outside. Even after 15 min walks, won't go, comes inside and pees on paper!! Help! We tried putting paper outside, no good. She is a 24 lb beagle, I cant pick her up tho (bad back), to put her outside when she is using the paper. Any suggestions??

i just got a puppy about 2 weeks ago he is about 3 months all of a sudden he just stoped eating, and he is starting to loose weight he doesnt have a appetite. he has all his shots and is nuthered. should i give him a dietary supplement called nutri-stat ? my vet said most likely it is stress from leaving his other home.

Hi,
I know of someone that has a litter of kittens, ready to leave their mother in a week. I've been thinking of getting a kitten for a while. Now I'm wondering should I maybe get two? Is getting two better than one? Would they be company for each other? I know it would be more cost and take more time to look after but that's not an issue. Also, what do I need to buy for a new kitten? Food, litter box and cat litter.....anything else? And, if I get two, should they each have their own litter boxes? Thanks in advance.

It is constant...he sucks on his paws until there is a giant wet spot wherever he is. It is all the time, and its loud and annoying.
Plus, he does it to a point sometimes to the point that he will limp.
Why does he do it, and how can i get him to stop?

I'm looking for any tips, tricks, or info in general. I'm curious to hear other people's stories, experiences, and advise. I'm a huge pet person, I've always had pets and we used to breed Akita's. I am getting a new couch and I do not want my cats to ever use it to go to the bathroom like with my previous couch. I got them an electronic litter box to make sure they always have clean litter (which should help) but I was wondering if there is any spray or such that would deter this type of recreational activity?

I have a chihuahua, and whenever he barks, he always spins around in a circle while doing it. I'm not sure if he's mentally retarted, or if that's just what chiuhuahuas do. But I think i've seen other chihuahuas do that too. If you have a chihuahua and know why they do this, please tell me why.

Our dog is 9 years old, and twice now, maybe out of bordom, has chewed the vinyl siding off of around the front door, and has demolished a Chevy Blazer by chewing around the entire wheel well, ripping the mirror/houseing off and eating the mudflap. On another occasion he chewed aluminum trim off of another house. We live in the country, we have horses, cats...he has plenty to do but on occasion does things like this and my first thought is to get rid of him but my kids like him. Has anyone else experienced this destructive behavior and found out why?

My poor kitty just got his 3rd vaccines an hour ago and has vomitted at least 5 times (large amounts). I called the vet and the receptionist said this is normal for 24-48 hours. I have put him in one room, rather than let him continue to puke around the house. Is it okay to leave him in the room for now to get some rest, or will it be more comforting to him if I allow him to roam? I didn't leave him any food, but left some water. The vet told me to limit food/water until later this evening. If he is vomiting, should I take away the water? I'm worried about the little guy!!!! Thanks for your help.
