Recently aquired male expressing vicious behavior to his son. This male was raised an "only dog" and was basically the pack leader. Owners were ineffective in controlling his behavior as a puppy. He is 4 years old. We have three other dogs, including his son, and he gets along with the other two. His son submits but is still attacked. I have asked this before and wish to know if the shock collar will change his temperament for the worse. Yes, I of course, have them separated, but this isn't doing his disposition any good, and yes, I know the shock will hurt him physically, but if it will modify his behavior I will use it. It hurts his son to be bitten too.The collar comes with directions so I think I can figure it out. The vet assures me that, at 4, he will not be cured by being neutered. At this point it's a habit. I'd appreciate any useful suggestions. This is a 90 lb. German Shepherd. Sarcastic one-liners are counter productive and unhelpful. Thank you for your help.

I know people that have cats and they live outside. They leave a basket in their shed for it to sleep in and it roams wherever it wants and always comes back. they have been doing this since it was a kitten. I would never do that because i would be scared it would run away. i just take my kitten out for walks on his harness and he doesn't even like being outside. Is it possible for a cat to live a full and healthy life outside?

I have a little chihuahua I took in several years ago from someone who did not want him. Recently he has developed a skin allergy, causing him to be bald from the neck down, on the inside of his legs, and now patches on his body. My vet cannot figure it out, and we have tried several medications, and taking away possible causes. Now we are told he needs to go to a "dog dermatologist." After all the expenses we have already incurred, we are now looking at around $350 to $400, or more. This is really not an expense we are prepared for, as we already spent a bunch on our 3 cats- 1 who was diagnosed with FIV. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any organizations who will help- I have not found any we qualify for. I feel bad for my little guy, but I really need help with the cost. Any ideas would be great- and please be serious. Thanks.

I feel like I'm feeding him too much. I feed him twice a day with flake food. I would like to switch him to the Hikari Bio Gold pellets. How would I go about making this smooth transition? And how many pellets do I give him? They are pretty small!

I have a veiled chameleon and something seems wrong. She has been lying down on the bottom of her ventilated cage for two days now. I just got home from work and she is laying upside down at the very bottom and her eyes are barely opened. I misted her, she has crickets, her uv light is working. What could be wrong? Is it possible she is just hot?

Thank you for your help!

I live in Oklahoma and I work at a pet store and a customer dropped off a baby blue jay and he has down feathers and some bigger feathers on his wings. Since we have Hand-Fed birds I am certified to hand-feed. i have been feeding him store bought baby bird formula and crickets. He has been eating really well and pooping good. He has a neck problem to where he cant keep his head straight but he is able to move it when he has an itch, so I know his neck isn't broken. I need help to what blue jays eat and how often and how long to be hand-feeding him. If he lives he wont be able to go back into the wild because with all the other problems he is also blind in one eye! I have a dumb bird on my hands please someone give me advice.
