As long as u keep their cage clean they don't smell. Also if u want a gecko, 1 that rarely bites and isn't really fast moving, I suggest that u get a fat-tailed gecko. they r very easy to care 4.They r really friendly & make great pets. Just remember always take good care of any animal that u get.

No. I've had my Leopard Gecko for nearly 3 years, and the only time I've ever smelled his cage is when he has recently deficated.(Crapped) As long as you keep his cage clean, they will be VIRTUALLY odor less. Besides, Leopard Geckos usually deficate in one corner of their cage. They're also very easy to care for. I have a heat pad, small water dish, and half of a log that I bought for about $7 at my local pet store and he's happy. I also bought Reptile Sand and I've got a decent sized lining in the bottom of his cage. Leopard Geckos are the best way to go for a new reptile owner.

I have a leopard gecko, and so far as I can tell she doesn't smell at all. Though, it probably helps that I take the poops out of her tank everyday...still...

In my experience the only truly bad smelling lizard is a dead one.

If you keep their housing cleaned and don't leave food in the cage too long, then no. They have no smell. I have two large iguanas, a skink, and 2 agamas. I have had a mountain horned dragon and a desert agama. None of them smell as long as you keep the bedding, water, and food fresh.

Certainly they'll smell if they're dead. You'll know since an army of ants will have the best treat of their lives coming across one.
If they stick to your skin, you best not pull it & stop being panicky or risk losing your skin entirely.

Most reptiles do not smell bad (there are exceptions).
If you keep their cage very clean they don't smell.
If they die, have old food in the cage or you don't clean up their feces, yes they smell bad.
