WOW....some of these answers are incorrect. Dogs do not get HIV or Leukemia vaccinations....that would be cats hun.
So, you have a new puppy. First congrats!
Second......Your puppy needs to be vaccinated at 6, 9, 12, and 16 weeks....give or take. Some vets do it differently but they should still get the same amount.
At 6, 9, and 12 he should get....distemper, parvo, corona (one shot) and dewormed.
At 16 weeks he should get .......distemper, parvo, corona (one shot) and rabies.
If you puppy is going to be around other dogs especially in a kennel environment he should be vaccinated with bordetalla (kennel cough).
Now, it is very important that they get these vaccinations. All of these viruses are deadly or very costly. It is much cheaper to vaccinate them then to have to treat them.
Something else to think about......
Dogs really need to be on heartworm prevention. That is very expensive to treat if they get them and are ususaly deadly as well.
I know this seems like a lot of information but just think ....you are caring for a living, breathing, creature. It is really not that bad when put in perspective. Good luck with your new puppy and potty training. Ha Ha!

A puppy can get his rabies shot at 12 weeks. Also, parvo, lyme and distemper is given at that time as well as HIV and leukemia screening. The vet will also give the puppy wormers. Good luck with your new companion!

he needs to get his boosters and your vet will let you know which ones he needs. He should get his first set of them at 6 weeks old or as soon as you can after that.
Don't worry your vet will explain everything to you.
