Mine always got loose in the house, and had a good memory. She'd always search around the part of the cage where the last escape had been. I remember having a faulty top on one, and she escaped through the hole in the plastic. I replaced the top with a new one, put her back in the cage and she crashed her head against the place where the hole was last time immediately in another attempt at freedom. Put some water out, some fruit and leafy greens, and watch for her.

The longest mine has been gone was three or four days. Leave the cage sitting in the flooe with fresh water, the heat lamp turned on, and fresh chopped zuccinni or turnip greend, cut up where it can smell them. Leave the cage door open. Maybe it will return. Since most aguanas are vegetariuns, he may have starved or dehydrated before now unless it is outside. If he is outside, he is very prone to getting hurt by big birds and dogs.. I really hope he returns, but if he does, he will have an attitued bigger than he is. He will act like you're the one that did something wrong. Most people would ask where does a lizard that big hide? Believe me, they are real escape artists and can hide right in plain sight and you won't see it. Good luck with finding him. I can feel your anguish from losing him and wondering how and where he is. I have gone through it myself. I cried until I Got sick and thre up.

i hope the weather there is warm at night. try looking high in trees and bushes around your planter boxes too. She could still be alive, unless someone took it.

the round lumps on their 'cheeks' are fat stores so they can survive rather well and if it's inside do what the others said, leave the door open and keep food in there. if the food disappears atleast you know s/he is still around.

last seen a month ago? did you check with local vets, animal shelters, police, etc - someone might have found it. like if she were someone around, you might have noticed.
