I've planted grass seed to fill in bare spots in the yard and there are rabbits all over the place, thanks to the neibors setting them free and not feeding them anymore, I feed them hay so they dont eat too much grass. but they do deposit little poopies in the yard. good or bad?

First, thx to everyone who gave me the advice to keep him alive - he's doing great! But I don't really want to keep him forever, I'd rather set him free. Problem is he has no fear of humans, cats or dogs now, and probably doesn't know how to find his own food. He's about 16 days old I think, fledgling, still baby feathers but flies pretty well. Still eating catfood and hamburger and cereal, not very interested in the seeds I put out for him.

THERE IS NO BIRD REHAB HERE so please don't suggest that. All other suggestions appreciated!

She only does it in the evening and licks and licks until her skin is red! The vet has carried out some tests but cannot find a reason for this. Any ideas anyone?

I've wanted a pet for over 7 years, but my parents won't let me get one. I've tried everything, including talking to them millions of times, telling them the pros and cons, and even offering to take care of the dog or cat myself (i know I can do it, I took care of a horse for 2 weeks at camp). Any suggestions to help?

We took her to the vet after the second day; they took her temp and listened to her heart. That was it. She's appreared to be sick for four days total now. Something's not right.

She is almost four years old; she's been partially fixed [as one of her ovaries is attatched to her urater (sp) so one could not be removed]. She is usually VERY personable; follows us EVERYWHERE, come when she is called (seriously!) and "talks" ALL THE TIME.

The past few days she has been lethargic, doesn't make a peep and squints a lot. Her breathing is heavy (we can hear it). Her mouth also seems to be slightly cracked opened at times (not always).

Does this mean anything?? Can I help her?? Should I ask the vet any specific questions?

(By the way: if you're going to suggest that I stick her in the microwave or something else rediculous like that, move on...).

My parakeet is 2 years old. About 1 month a go her body seemed to turn to rubber and we thought she had a seizure, but weren't sure. Now we know she has, this has been happening more often, and all of a sudden. she also doesn't want to be messed with. The vet said it could be a bacterial infection, but it hasn't gone away and the other birds aren't having seizures. She is a otherwise healthy/happy bird with no previous problems. We also though it could be heredity but her 2 sisters aren't having the same prob.
If anyone has any ideas plz let me know. We live in a small town and none of the vets around here specialize in birds...they just guess. The pet store we got her from hasn't even heard of anything happeni9ng. If you know what could be causing this, or what to give her, plz let me know. except for the seizures and her body turning to "rubber right b-4"yopu wouldn't think anything was wrong.

I was intrested in getting a Papillon. A couple of years ago we lost our Akita and have been cautious to get another dog. I was thinking of getting a Pap but the only concern is, no one would be home to let the dog outside. Crates arn't something we are looking into would it be okay that the pap stayed inside for around 6 hours?

Does anyone know a breeder near New York!?

I have 3 dogs (3 differnet breeds). They've lived well together for several years. Now, 2 of them have suddenly become very mean to the one. They won't let her eat and they tackle, fight and hurt her. Why would they do that and how should I handle it?

She is about 9 months old and a mix of hound, lab, shepard, pointer, maybe beagle and heaven knows what else. She is about 35 #. She will eat anything I give her. The vet said beef or chicken broth but how would this help? Her hair fell out where she was wearing a collar and I have removed it except when we are out for a walk. i got her a harness instead. I have heard fish oil?? Thanks for suggestions.

My beta's name is Finnieus Beaumont Zartavious Gills and I used to have Boaz Theodore Finster. Are these good names? I like them because they are different.

OKay since I got my puppy 2 weeks ago he has always walked in circles and kinda gets a little wobly on his feet sometimes as well as drinks a ton of water. He is 5 months old so I took him in to get fixed this morning and brought up these problems 30 minutes later I get a call saying they needed to do blood work because they think there is something wrong with his liver chunt? They said if thats what it is he will need to go somewhere else for surgery.

My question is has anyone else had a dog with liver problems? Could it be something else besides he liver?

She moved them under our bed. Is it because we changed the bedding in the box to early? Can we move them back? They are crawling around and we don't want them to get hurt. Did she move them because she didn't think that they were safe?

She eats and drinks lots of water but is bleeding heavy and has lost alot of weight. Is this normal or is something else going on with her. She goes to the bathroom but does not poop alot. Is this internal bleeding or is she dying. I hate to take her in and they tell me she is dying cause I do not have the heart to put her down. Thank-you I hope someone can answer my question.

A dog recently came to my house, in spite of trying to find her owner, I haven't had any luck. She's an adorable Miniature Dachshund and I am trying to take care of her whether this ends up being her permanent home or not, until I find the owner. In the meantime, I have put out several different types of dogfood for her in the beginning and she wouldn't eat it, in fact "starved" for 2 days.I felt so bad for her, that I ended up giving her "real food." Good thing she's so tiny, and I can afford to give her scraps. My husband is worried that people food isn't as good for her as dogfood. I try to give her a well balanced diet with starch, meat and non-gassy veggies- if you know what I mean. Is that enough?
