You can teach her just about anything!! My GSD love a game called "find it". This'll be easy because she already knows "stay". Get a biscuit and tell her to stay. Let her watch you hide it. Then tell her to 'find it'. She'll have seen you hide it, and she'll go and dig it out. Do this for a while, and then when she gets good at it, hide a treat without letting her watch. Tell her to "find it" again. She'll use her nose to do it this time.
Once you get that down, you can make it more complicated. Keep throwing tricks in there - hide it in harder places, expand the search area to several rooms, etc. Mine loves this game, and eventually, with this groundwork, you can work up to teaching her how to track things.
Good luck!!
