Absolutely not.
It does not mean your dog has something wrong with it either.
Some breeds have black tongues, and it could possibly be a mixed breed too.

It is simply color pigment, any breed or mix can have black spots on their tongues or roof of their mouth.
So often you hear "well that dog has to be a mix with a chow just look at the tongue" but that just isn't the case. There are already examples here of other breeds that have spotted tongues and I will add my own, some of my purebred danes have spots on their tongues.

no, black spots on the tongue usually indicate that the dog is part chow (chows have black tongues) but I have seen a purebred Golden Retriever (with papers) that had black spots on his tongue so it all depends. I know that their whole tongue is black, its the chow mixes that get the spots

No, it is not true. Usually if it has a black or blue tongue, it is a breed called a CHOW. If it just has a spot or 2, u'r dog may be part Chow. Do u know what breed u'r dog is or is that what u'r trying to find out?? In any case, u can ask u'r vet or research the chow breed online. Good Luck

no. It just means that your dog has good pigment. It's sort of like a misplaced freckle. And for the record, chows don't have black spots on their tongues, their entire tongue is a blue/black color.

No, just think of it as a mole or a birthmark. We, humans, have birthmarks...so this is the same for dogs with a black spot on their tongue.

No.
Some breeds have black tounges most do not.
It has nothing to do with the dog being pure bred or mixed.
One of my pure bred Weims has a spotted roof of his mouth the other does not.
Both are registered with AKC and are pure bred.
