You have a german shepherd, so you'd better buy a furminator brush, rake, or shedding blade and get used to it :)! He'll shed all year-round and shed so much you'll wonder where he gets all the hair. It's just a characteristic of the breed. To cut down on the fur in your house, what I'd recommend is taking him outside once a day and giving him a good going-over with a shedding blade. Do this outside because fur will fly!! Also look into the furminator brand shampoos and conditioners. They're a bit pricey, but when used as directed they really cut down on the shedding a lot. Good luck!

My shepherd sheds pretty much all of the time. There are 'heavier' periods, but the shedding doesn't stop. Don't worry about it, and brush your dog regularly. I sit down and watch TV while brushing her, and it appears to lessen the shedding around the house. This is normal.
