I just got a new fish! But I don't know what to name it. I have a fish already named Ping. So my parents told me that I should name this one Pong. Ha. But I don't know. Got any good ones?

Have a 2 yr old male and 4 month old female and my 2year old bit a kid and i growling at my kids. Is this because there is another dog in the house. We have had the 2yrold for a long time and just got the 4 month old. They restle and get along great.We are constanly worying about him running away when someone goes out the door. The pup runs out and comes back in. The big dog isn't nuiterd and do you think he is just frustrated because there is a female in the house and he can't get her.

I know cat lovers don't perfer friskers,meow mix, whiskas. But why? I know they contain "fillers" but what does this to the cat? Does it make them get plumpy and overweight? I currently feed my cats a mixture of deli cat and purina cat chow because thats what she likes. My cat is very slim, she is also very healthy. She doesn't like the Iams and I don't want her starvin to death. Thanks for the info.

We are working on opening up our own pet store by X-mas time this year. We were thinking of "Pet Barn" but, thinking about it, it sounds more like a feed store than a pet store. ( unless you think differently. Let me know.)
So then we were thinking of a tropical theme for our store. So here are 2 name ideas: Pet Island or Pet Paradise. What do you think? Or can you think of a tropical or country name for a pet store?
How would you decorate a pet store with one of these themes inside and out? How would you lay out the store? Where would you put the check-out counter and animals & supplies and food.

We will not be carrying dogs or cats. We will be working with our local shelters for that. We will be selling small animals, chinchillas and bunnies, small birds, reptiles and fish. And products for everybody.

Let me know your ideas and and suggestions on what you would like in a pet store if you owned it. Thanks and have a great week.

She is nine months old (strictly indoor), and has recently acquired this bad habit. As much as I try to keep my cups/glasses out of the way, my kids certainly don't (and she can usually reach them anyway). I'm tired of cleaning up messes because of her mischief. She actually goes out of her way to do this -- puts her paw in the cup to pull it over...

My dog has lost his mind. He has gotten so bad my husband cant touch me, even hug me, without the dog barking his head off and acting as though he is going to bite my husband. He is like this with others as well. Someone tapped me on my shoulder and the dog jumped up on the person, barking and growling agressively. The strangest thing, is I have only been with the dog for a year, and my husband has had him for 5. Has anyone else experienced this, or knows how to fix it? Thanks....Princess

Sometimes it just so sad. Read this and maybe it will make you sad enought to do something;
Isn't it funny, Way back then people Loved this breed and Believed in what they stood for, But now they say Pit Bulls are bad. Funny how we have turned our backs on this loyal breed

A Prayer of a Pit bull
Spirit in the sky, who watches over all animals:
It is my prayer and my request that you grant greater understanding,
and acceptance to humans;
those who love us, and those who hate us.
That they will know how loyal we are, how brave we are,
and how loving we are. Help them to accept us as a breed in whole, and not let the few tragedies shine brighter than the many great traits that we have. And those who would kill me,
let them know, I forgive them, even though I don't understand their hatred. And those who would beat me, let them know I still love them, even though it is not the honorable way.
Thank you for all the strong traits that you have given to me,
and my breed. Help those to know that I stand for
courage, strength, loyalty, and bravery.
And as my master already knows, let those who would come against my family know that I would surely die defending them.
And just one last thing that I would ask:
Let my master know, that if you should call me away,
that I will wait patiently at those pearly gates
until the one who chose me,
comes home.
Amen.

I have just adopted a Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was rescued by a friend of mine. He is a lovely dog , well mannered, very obedient affectionate and eager to please.
Only problem is I have quite an elderly cat and he has taken to chasing her and going for her. My other Staffy has never bothered with her, in fact they give each other the occasional sniff.
Can you suggest anything to deter the new boy in the house chasing her ? I really would like to keep him but if this continues I'll have to re-think and I don't want to put him through settling in to another new home. Thanks .

Because I used live sand and live rock, I believe the cycle will speed up a bit. I just added one Damsel into my tank yesterday. I was told that the fish will be stress during the nitrogen cycle, but she is scared and hides in the corner of the tank. Does this mean she is stress or she is just scared?

Is my tank fully cycled yet? From my fish's behavior, can I make assumption that my tank is fully cycled and ready to add more fish or I need to observe something else? Is it true that if I tested the water and found only NITRATE that means the tank is fully cycled?

Bella (bullmastiff) is 4 1/2 mths and we have had her since 6 wks old. She is crate trained and sleeps all night w/out accidents. We got Buddy (boxer) who is 3 1/2 mths old @ 3 wks ago. He is also crate trained and sleeps all night w/out accidents. During the day, I am continually letting them outside after napping, eating, drinking, playing, etc...but they will still come in and potty on the floor. I have showed them and told them 'bad dog' and took them back outside, sent them 'to their room' and have swatted their backends w/paper towel rolls. Nothing is working. Hubby said I have 2 weeks or they're gone. I can't blame him, but they are my babies, especially Bella, and Buddy belongs to my little girl. Anyone have any suggestions? This is driving me crazy. I feel like I live in a barn. Carpets are continually being shampooed, and the smell is awful. I burn candles all the time. Please help with any useful and humane ideas. Thank you.

Every year around this time my son starts getting attacked by fleas. He gets these HORRIBLE bites everywhere. Especially on his lower legs. I looked it up online and I think he has an alergic reaction to the fleas,(nobody else in the house is being bit.) We have moved the animals outdoors, fogged several times, no dice.... I have heard that I can get him to take garlic tablets and that helps to prevent the bites. Anyone else have an experience like this? What can I do to keep him from being bit. It is just terrible. His is covered with bites. I took him to the doctor, and it is NOT chicken pox, it is flea bites for sure. He also itches them like crazy. Any really good anti itch products? Home remedies?

My 2 year old female cat is extremely aggressive. She will allow no one to pet her unless she is sleepy or wants food. Much against my will, my mom got her front paws declawed, but she was mean before this. Now she uses her teeth instead of claws to shred anyone who gets on her bad side.. if she is agitated and someone sits near her, she attacks their arms or legs. However, she is kinder to strangers. When she gets to know someone she acts as if she owns them and then bites whenever she feels like it. If she is ever held (which rarely happens) she will hiss after a minute or two. But yet she still loves me, because she sleeps in my room and purrs maybe once a day only to me. How can I get her to stop showing so much hatred, and to be nice most of the time instead of just every once in a while? We treated her great when she was a kitten.. also, she is an indoor cat only. (And yes, she has been spayed.)

I was scrubbing the couch with our deep steamer machine, and when I poured out the dirty water, I noticed rice like objects. But it definately wasn't rice! Our couch is dark brown, so I've never seen anything like this before. We've never noticed anything in our dog's poop.
