I was scrubbing the couch with our deep steamer machine, and when I poured out the dirty water, I noticed rice like objects. But it definately wasn't rice! Our couch is dark brown, so I've never seen anything like this before. We've never noticed anything in our dog's poop.

ok, I just went outside and checked out my dog's stool. There were more segments in the poop. My hubby is the one that scoops it and he said he's never noticed anything. (go figure) I've had dogs before, I went ahead and ordered tapeworm tabs from entirelypets.com.

These are tapeworm segments and your dog gets tapeworms from swallowing fleas.

I prefer to get my tapeworm medications from the vet. He/she can also educate you on proper parasite control for your pet.

ps - when you go to the vet bring a sample of the worms along with the poop. Tapeworms don't deposit eggs in the stools like other worms (round, tape, whip) so, be on the look out for one of the segments/worms to take with you.

rice-like is a round worm. you can go to the vet for a good wormer to get rid of all the types of worms out there, some vets require a test for the types of worms meaning bring in a sample of stool, or a blood test, but several vets will just treat your animal for worms if they have not been treated in the last 30 days. however if you don't have the money for treatment ( a shot can be just about $15.00) you can get a wormer for round worm at walmart, I believe it is the 8 in 1 brand, for about 8 bucks. but I highly suggest a vet to treat your animal. good luck!

It sounds like your dog has worms....go to your local vet and pick up a worm pill...they are very inexpensive...be sure to know the weight of the dog because that will determine the dosage. Good Luck

sure you may circulate to the vet and take a stool pattern with you ASAP. additionally component of habitual care is to take up a stool pattern a pair of times a 365 days and likewise have a heartworm try performed as quickly as a 365 days, the vet will draw blood. there is alot greater to the wellbeing of a canine than eating, pooping and peeing.

yes they definately are worms. My boxer puppy had the same thing. They can be cleared up with a pill from your vet or Panacur from your vet.

might have worms. go to a petsmart or something and they'll have de-wormer. it wouldn't hurt the dog to get some just in case.
