The same way you do a puppy. Prevention is key, plus reward for doing it in the right place.

First off - your dog should be crate trained. It isn't mean, dogs are den animals and once they get past the initial shock of being confined, you'll find your dog will love her "den" and will sometimes sit there.

The advantage to the tight quarters is that dogs usually won't go where they sleep. So..start by putting her in there at night to sleep, and anytime you'll be gone for awhile from the house.

As soon as pup comes out of the crate, walk outside (on a leash if necessary..and yes, better if she walks rather than you carry) to the spot you want her to use and command "go potty." (or any phrase you want). I use both potty and poop, because my dogs don't always do both. Give her time, sometimes it takes a few minutes.

Be very sure to praise her for going in the right place!

Then take her in and play with her. Do not leave her unattended (unwatched) at all! If you need to, keep her on a leash by your side. Every hour or so, or 15 min after eating, take her out and give the potty command.

If she's not going unwatched, she should have few accidents but the only way you can scold her is when you catch her in the act (after the fact is useless). Something like "no" followed by taking her out quickly to the right spot should convey the message.

Make sure you use an enzyme cleaner on any spots she's already used in the house (you may have to treat multiple times) because if there is any trace of odor left, she'll still think that's an okay potty spot.

You might also consider a dog door. A lot of dogs that won't wait for you to open the door, will go in and out on their own.

Good luck.

Potty training is tough! Even if she poops inside you should take her outside every time. It's also good to get a cleaner for your flooring like "Nature's Miracle," that way the smells that your puppy refers to when it's time to go are removed. Also make sure you praise her and make it a really big deal with treats and kisses when she does her thing outside. You may want to keep her on a feeding schedule, and take her out every 3hours or so to reinforce going outside. Another good thing i tried was saying a certain word, mine happened to be "get busy" a couple times right when my puppy was going to the bathroom outside, that way it takes less time. And finally, always wait until number one and two are accomplished before heading back in. It's also a good idea to take your puppy outside when she starts sniffing around in a circle or a clue like that. Hope it works out for you!

Make sure you take her out at regular times. Don't just do it whenever you get around to it set times of the day and take "pickle" out.
My crested never asked to be let out until this summer and he will be 3 in September.

Just look up crate training on google. Works every time. make sure you have a small enough crate that he can't divide it into the poop area and the sleeping area.

This is what we did to train our two dogs.
Every two hours take the dog outside and wait until the dog goes and then come in. Every two hours, it worked for us.

good luck.
