to be safe, with all the dobermans i've owned, i leave them on for up to three weeks. Remember, some dogs develop and heal faster than others just like some children develop and grow faster than others. I usually tape their ears and place a level in between them so both ears develop and "learn" to stand straight up and high as opposed to some dogs that have one drooping or slightly bent. Like i said, three weeks to be safe. You might want to wet the tape when you remove it at this time because it can get really sticky and kinda pull on the small little hairs and if they are still there, the stitches. If you don't wan to wait three weeks, by the end of the second week, they should stand but there is no guarentee they will be fully erect.

it is usually 7 to 14 days but it really all depends on each individual dog.

Ask your vet. It varies from dog to dog.
