A large LARGE roach was in my house yesterday, about the size of a cellphone, with very large antennae. I used bug spray and sprayed him till he died...

Does that mean there are a bunch more?
Where did he come from?
Is it because the people upstairs from where I live was vacant for a while?

I am having serious PTSD over this.....help?

I'm looking for a futon for my dorm room. I'm trying to find one that is comfortable (and not like a rock, like the one I looked at in target) and not too expensive. Help!

I have a nectarine tree in my backyard that bears fruit every summer. They're delicious once they're ripe but I wasn't able to try them this summer because all the squirrels, birds, and insects ate them. I tried to protect the fruit by wrapping them in little packages of newspaper but that didn't work. The animals still got away with it. I could purchase repellants, but I'm afraid of consuming the subtance that they contain. How can I enjoy those yummy nectarines in my backyard without the annoying animals in my way?

Hi,a couple of yrs ago we built our own conservatory. It took a lot of hard work and money, obviously.
3 weeks ago a kid put a golf ball through the roof, which is the plastic doubleglazed kind. The boy(11yrs) did say sorry but his mum, a divorcee, started crying and saying that she was depressed, had been abused by her ex for18yrs,suicidle,under the Dr,working two p/time jobs and that this was the last straw. My husband told her our address and said he would be in touch. The boy could have killed someone with the ball as it went across a walkway and it is not the first time we have found his golfballs in the garden. My dilemma is,do we charge her for the cost of repair or just leave it?The idea that we could be responsible for pushing someone over the edge is horrific. But on the other hand,we both work hard and as for depression and single mum, been there, done that but paid my way.Should it be us that pays? She hasnt contacted us at all. Any ideas would be gratefuly received. Are we too soft?

I want to put 4 or 5 inch squares of pictures all along my walls, and I don't know if I should use frames or something else. I would think the frames might take away from the pictures.

i'm getting my house inspected today and i'm a nervous wreck. i have no idea why, i'm afraid that they'll find something that i didn't know about and then i won't be able to sell my home. what does the inspecter look for? i feel like he's going to look at every little thing..... i heard just the structure was inspected but then i was told that they climb all in the attic... so i'm not sure what to expect or if i even want to be here when he comes.....

My problem is that the fitted sheet keeps coming undone in my top corner side of the mattress. There is a feather bed underneath of the fitted sheet also that may be part of the problem. I think I have the fitted sheet on the mattress properly, it is tucked all the way under the mattress but it always seems to work it self loose and come off of the mattress. Any ideas why this is happenning? Anyone know of any solutions to this problem?

They are only little, but they are sooooo creepy. Do they give off some chemical that makes us scared of them? Am I right to run screaming out of the room or should I find love in my heart for them? Uughh!

I'm looking for a queen-sized iron bed with headboard and footboard. Don't like any of the new ones in the furniture stores and have looked at flea markets, etc. Have found lots of full-sized beds but no queen sized with footboards. Any suggestions? I'm in Eastern Ky.

Isn't the whole point of "outside" the fact that it's sometimes cold? You know, it changes with the weather? Because, you know, IT'S OUTSIDE?

Also, hard scientific fact or not, aren't we all supposed to be conserving energy because of "climate change" and what-have-you?

Come on people! Just put a jumper on if it's so cold! FFS!

tonight i pulled in my driveway and there were two huge skunks!! they didnt even care i was there. i have a large yukon that is loud due to the dual exhaust. it didnt even make them look. they walked along my house up to the fence and slowly went to my nieghbors backyard . we always have had skunks in the area and you can always smell them. my pits used to kill them constantly we would find them in the morning in our yard and we knew our loving dogs were only protecting there territory. is there anythine we can do to keep them out of our yard??? how small of a space can they squeeze through. i have small kids and always worry that they will come across one. i have called the city and they claim its up to us to get rid of them. please any advice!!!

We have a couple that lived in one of our rentals for free for about 6 months. We did this because of a passing family member.
The problem is , they have moved but will not come and get their belongings out.The whole rental is full of their stuff.
We told them we need to clean the rental.
We told them that someone is coming to see the rental.
We told them we have rented it and the new tenants are moving in.
The guy is working weekends his wife doesn't work, so their is no reason for them to not get their stuff. I can't seem to get my husband to be more firm.
I need to come up with something that surely would get them up and moving.Does anyone have an idea of what could be said to do this?
Husband said he wouldn't say anything about legal issues because that would probably take even longer. please help.
Thank you LayLa
