I live in Maine and there are these brown Paotato bug like things all around my home. they don't look like potato bugs besides the fact that they are fat and round other than that they are totally brown (from what i have seen anyway) about the size of my pinky. (i know you don't know what my pinky looks like) any ideas?

A family member smokes menthols and they practically stain whatever I wear over there. We get it, smoking is bad, don't waste our time. Is there something I can put in the house to cut down on the excessive odor?

As a SAHM and just in general a frugal person, I am always looking for tips to save money. I will share a few of mine too. Here are my favorite money saving tips

Use a crock pot, it takes less money to run than your oves, saves tons of time, food turns out great, and it doesn't heat the house.

Use a Toaster oven. When I'm not cooking in the crock pot I'm cooking in my toaster oven. I bought one big enough to bake pies, bread, cake in square cake pan, cookies, chicken, steaks, etc..... I bought a regular toaster for making toast. I feel making toast in a large toaster oven is a waste of electricity.

Buy used when possible. I bought my sons loft bed for $150 the same exact bed sales for $1000 at our local kids furniture store. I bought his power wheels 2 seater jeep for $30. and I bought a Quadra Fire gas insert for $250, we were looking at the same one at a local store for $2500. These are just a few bargains I have found.

I've never had a problem with ants before in my house, but nowadays I keep seeing them over and over and over. They're in my bedroom, bathrooms, and living room. I kept everything clean and use baby powder, febreeze air effects, and Raid often if I see them. I've even sprayed the ants outside my home to make sure they don't come into my house. Help ME!

How can you make the cloudines go away. I just recently put too much chlorine.shock.algae killer and now its cloudy and a little bit green. I'm wondering it shouldn't be green since there is more than enough chlorine. WHat happened was i tried to filter it but that wouldn't help. I also scrubbed the bottom of my pool and the powder from the shock treatment was comming up i could see the powder moving around at the bottom as i scrubbed. I just finished scrubbing and got rid of the green stuff, but it's still semi-cloudy what shall i do next. Can you give me steps or an answer that's clear. Thanks so much.

Indian weathers are so well suited for lizards.

What to do when we actually confront them ? There arent any sprays available & we cant squash them like bugs..So how does one get rid of them ? Do Egg shells help ?-its an old wives tale, said to repel them...probably not though..

Few questions here... just need your input Im trying to sell my home and although I have an agent Im looking for outside sources opinions.

When looking at a home to buy would you rather get an allowance from the seller for new carpet 1,000. dollars?? Or would you rather the new carpet already be installed??

What is the biggest thing inside the home that would make you want to buy it??

Someone just bought a condo but discovered a roach problem. After Terminex (sp) visited a few times the problem was still there and then it was figured that the whole building must be infested. (After a neighbor commented on how her roach problem wasnt so bad lately) Obviously one person can't pay to exterminate the building so could you report the situation to the health dept? She said there is no one to talk to as far as who runs/owns the complex and i suggested the health dept. Or is this the kind of thing they will just have to deal with? Most of the tenants are (i believe) owners and not just renters. This is in NC.

Ok... We have a mice problem... We called out pest control and they are helping us... They are under our crawlspace.. YUCK!! Driving me crazy... I have two little kids and I worry horrible about this because they keep coming in the house while we are sleeping... This is how we found out we had them.. They keep leaving their little "presents" for us! YUCK! So I keep cleaning and cleaning! I am a VERY clean person, I keep my house VERY clean, but they manage to come and intrude. :((( Im going out of my mind! They have been under my couch! Today when the pest control was here, he pulled out my stove, there was mice "stuff" all back there!! Oh my goodness! So after he left, I couldn't get the bottom drawer to close all the way....You know the part you put pots and pans in... Well, I opened it and it had mouse poop all in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im about to go insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All over my pans!!!!!!!! What do I do??? Is running them through the dishwasher good enough???

We are seriouly thinking about buying a swimming pool. My daughter has been diagnosed with Scoliosis and the doctor said that swimming would be great exercise for her. We moved from Lousiana to Kansas a few years ago and I don't know if it is a lot of trouble to take care of a pool here with the prolonged cold in the winter. Is there a lot to do to winterize a pool and is there any pro's or con's to going with "in the ground" or "above the ground"?

I want my centerpieces to have about three hydrangeas and when I went to the LA Flower Marker I found white hydrangea bunches for about $6 but colored hydrangeas (pink and purple) for about $12. Each bunch was about 4-5 stems, so for white hydrangeas it averages to $1.50-$2 and colored for $3-$3.50 per stem. Is this right? I was looking into having a florist arrange 3 hydrangeas and 6 roses in vases that i have botten (rose Im sure are cheaper around $1.00-$1.50 per stem). They said it would be $35-$40 isnt this way too much, I understand labor cost but are they totally ripping me off or is this how much it will cost? I would think as florist they would even get flowers even cheaper since they buy by bulk right? I am totally wrong by asking them to do it for at least $25-$30?
