Someone just bought a condo but discovered a roach problem. After Terminex (sp) visited a few times the problem was still there and then it was figured that the whole building must be infested. (After a neighbor commented on how her roach problem wasnt so bad lately) Obviously one person can't pay to exterminate the building so could you report the situation to the health dept? She said there is no one to talk to as far as who runs/owns the complex and i suggested the health dept. Or is this the kind of thing they will just have to deal with? Most of the tenants are (i believe) owners and not just renters. This is in NC.

Sad as it is, theres no law saying you can force neighbors to have bugs killed. I lived in an apartment in Maryland and some of the other tenants wouldn't even agree to let the exterminator in their apartment with no charge to them. It really needs to be a whole building effort if it is to be successful. In the end, we lucked out because the exterminator found a huge nest (said it had to be 15 years old) under a frig in the apartment under mine.

Boric acid, it is very effective when used properly for killing cockroaches and most other insects. You can also get a house lizard, they are natural enemies and will eat them.
