Ok... We have a mice problem... We called out pest control and they are helping us... They are under our crawlspace.. YUCK!! Driving me crazy... I have two little kids and I worry horrible about this because they keep coming in the house while we are sleeping... This is how we found out we had them.. They keep leaving their little "presents" for us! YUCK! So I keep cleaning and cleaning! I am a VERY clean person, I keep my house VERY clean, but they manage to come and intrude. :((( Im going out of my mind! They have been under my couch! Today when the pest control was here, he pulled out my stove, there was mice "stuff" all back there!! Oh my goodness! So after he left, I couldn't get the bottom drawer to close all the way....You know the part you put pots and pans in... Well, I opened it and it had mouse poop all in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im about to go insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All over my pans!!!!!!!! What do I do??? Is running them through the dishwasher good enough???

You think that is bad, I had a rat problem a few months ago. I didn't really realize how bad it had gotten, because they were not coming in the house.
But I set traps and would catch some and I did have a container that had filled with water which several drowned in.
All together, I killed 18. When they started to get in the house, I about had a heart attack. Did I mention I'm deathly afraid of mice and rats. Snakes, frogs, lizards, don't bother me at all. I'll pick them up...but mice and rats...that's a whole other story.
What I finally did, was put out decon and that got rid of them. Only a day or two of the "smell of death". I'll always have to keep the decon out, because my neighbor has horses and the rats like the feed. My dogs killed one yesterday, put it wasn't by the house. We were also having a dry spell and they were looking for water.
I cleaned everything with bleach water.
One good thing, I'm not as afraid of them now since I've had to take them off of traps and take them out of buckets of water and bury them. Yuck is right! Double Yuck!!

They are there for either food or shelter. Find out how they are getting in and eliminate the opening. Check all around the house for openings, cracks, gaps in the foundation, siding etc. Fill the holes with concrete or steel wool (the two thing that mice can't chew through). Then eliminate the food. Store all of your food in tight containers. Garbage too. If you think like a mouse then even crumbs from the toaster are a food supply. This may be the hardest part since potential food sources are everywhere. Also, try peanut butter in an old-fashioned mouse trap -it works pretty good. Be careful about diseases that they carry. Read up on hantavirus on a health department web site. Good luck.

you want to get a tub or better still a 2 litre or three litre bottle of diluting juice or something of that size and drop in a little grease on a piece of bread and sit it standing up nearby any convient spot that you've had mouse dropping (S) then wait, go to bed then check next morning to see if you have caught anything in the bottle and empty the bottle my taking out the neck end and releasing the mouse at least 1 mile away from your house!!! (note) cut the bottle three thirds of the way up and turn top piece into bottom piece this forms a V going in to the bottom and as the mouse falls or gets in it can't get out because the hole is in the middle of the bottle neck. or spend a little money and buy a safe catcher that catches the mouse alive or set mouse traps away from kid areas auch as under kick boards under the bath or kitchen cupboards. both plans work have killed many mice in my life time. Another way is to borrow a polecat or small ferret from a friend and let it run loose in the house for a day or too it will hunt and kill all the mice it finds until it gets bored or want to be fed.

No, I don't think that running the mice through the dishwasher will help much.
The thing about mice is that if you have one, then there are at least twenty, and they multiply very fast. Also one type of trap will be effective only against one type of mouse. A spring trap will catch the bigger mice, but the babies will not set it off. What you need to do is to try every approach possible all at once. You need glue traps, sring traps, and poisen bait. I would recommend getting snakes and a starving alley cat also, but if you don't want to do that try everything else.

ok sis. had the problem in a old house. I got mice traps and put them around. I think I told you in my email this morning about putting traps around. walmart and winn dixie have them. the reason the bottom and the stove drawer will not go back is because you are upset right now. take a deep breath and it will slide right into place. agape love

Traps, poison, and such. I'd say get a cat (or borrow one from a friend) for at least 3 months. Your problem will be solved and you can always give the cat away (or back) afterward.

Get some cats. I have many and no mice, although they do catch them in the neighbors' yards and bring them home to my yard to play with.
